i like voting. i vote on everything i can vote on. it's fun tbh.

_Wrathchild_ 03-03-2008 07:10 PM

hooray.
I come from a really political family too so thats probably part of it. Both of my parents have run for MLA before. My mom did just last year.

Sunshine 03-03-2008 07:11 PM

Haha, this is the first year my dad's ever even registered to vote.
He's 39.
I don't think he voted in the primaries, and my mom's switched to independent 'cause she's pissed that all the candidates suck major *** for this year's US presidential elections.

Little Android Man 03-03-2008 07:11 PM

WAR has a small e-penis

Seafroggys 03-03-2008 07:11 PM

Yeah my family is very political as well.

I love voting.

Win A Rabbit 03-03-2008 07:13 PM

my family isn't political at all.

my grampa got my dad onto the "jews control everything omg they must be stopped" thing recently, but that's basically the limit of politicalness here.

they just ask me who they should vote for.

_Wrathchild_ 03-03-2008 07:14 PM

The presidential elections in America are weird. It takes soo long. And what's up with primaries? We don't do that here.

Win A Rabbit 03-03-2008 07:15 PM

You're so lucky.
Our elections are dragged on and on and on, even if its obvious who is going to win something [see: McCain].
And its really annoying and by the time the real elections come up everybody's tired of hearing about it and nobody cares anymore.

Sunshine 03-03-2008 07:35 PM

Yeah. Here, the parties decide amongst themselves who will be their leader, and then they have 6 or 8 weeks or something to campaign, then there's an election.
Doesn't it take like almost a year or something horrible like that in America?

Static 03-03-2008 07:40 PM

Yep.

Sunshine 03-03-2008 07:40 PM

Yeaaah, people have been talking about this since '07.
Either you pay attention in the beginning, and drop out in the middle and wait for the actual November elections, or you just wait until there is one candidate for each party and pay attention in the last month or two.
Most people can't handle the giant year+ -long process.

Little Android Man 03-03-2008 07:41 PM

The campaigning for presidents started like months ago, and the election isn't until next november.

Berk 03-03-2008 07:44 PM

Verdas 03-03-2008 07:47 PM

Hey I am going up to northern Canada this summer.. A friend of mine is a pilot and we are taking a little single engine plane up there. Not only will we be flying low enough to see wildlife and the wicked landscape up there, but when we are there it will be 2 weeks of 24hr/day sunlight. That will be so trippy.

It will be awesome to see that part of the country, as almost nodoby gets up that far. I am so pumped.

Little Android Man 03-03-2008 07:48 PM
