Culture Shock 05-29-2006 01:30 AM

Coheneran, do you know if there is any poison ivy or ticks in the UK?

TakeWarning 05-29-2006 02:54 AM

I had maths and english exams today, so boring.

In english, I sat next to a really hot girl and she was distracting me the whole time, it was quite annoying.

I think there's both. Not a whole lot of poison ivy though, because it was only recently introduced.

I've heard of ticks here, but only when it's hot, and even then they are rare, and mostly stick with horses. We don't have poison ivy, but we do have lots of spiky bushes, and if you go to yorkshire, beware their stinging nettles, they are the worst in England.

EDIT: I stand corrected, maybe we do have some poison ivy. I don't know what it looks like though, or what it does.

It's a plant with shiny leaves that are often times in groups of three. When it comes in contact with skin, it will cause an itchy, bumpy, red rash that is easily spread to other parts of the body or other people.

There you can see the three-leaf grouping, as well as a little bit of the shine the leaves sometimes have.

It's terrible when you get it. Some people aren't allergic to it though. You should be just fine, unless you go hiking through a forest somewhere in London.

I think I've seen leaves like that in England.

Would you believe I've got nothing to do this week until Thursday? It sucks arse.
Anarcho where's this ska fest?
Trinity church. It's not really much of a 'fest', but it's all the local ska bands, whom I heart.

SantaDuJuan 05-29-2006 10:45 AM

Local Ska, is that generic like Local Punk?

Are Kicking Sicily playing?

I used to love Kicking Sicily. I haven't seen them or listened to anything of theirs for a while. They put on a great show, though.

Sebek 05-29-2006 11:19 AM

I just realised my work out routine hasn't been cutting it so far. Time to up the ante, as they say.

coheneran 05-29-2006 12:05 PM

You'll get to see them.

Danger Bird 05-29-2006 12:07 PM

Meh. I've got One Reason in July!

coheneran 05-29-2006 12:08 PM

Never heard them.

Am I the only one who gets really depressed in the spring?

Danger Bird 05-29-2006 12:12 PM

Yes, you are.

You sheck check out 1R on salinas records' site. Find their Mountains 7", they've got a free mp3 song. Hang on, I'll find it for you.

EDIT: Here: http://www.unshadowed.com/salinas/013.html

Danger Bird 05-29-2006 01:18 PM

I'm listening to Common Rider. So not gay.

coheneran 05-29-2006 01:20 PM

What's AGT?

AIRIC 05-29-2006 01:21 PM

A Global Threat.

And Common Rider sucks.
