Holy shit.
Alter Bridge's new album is ridiculously great. It's way better than the debut so far. |

Seems good, however it is the only MTB I have heard yet. |

Simple as it may be, I really enjoy Katie Melua's new album. I love her voice and the music is quite good. It even reminds me of The Cure at times.
|
Oh really? I've never heard of her but I might have to check it out cause I like The Cure.
|
On the previous album she even did a cover of Just Like Heaven that was pretty good.
|
Damn, I love Nadja. <3
I hate being tired though, and that's what I am right now. But listening to Nadja makes up for that. np: Thaumogenesis |
This new Jesu EP is awesome.
NP: Jesu - You Wear Their Masks |
There's a lot of hate for the third track with Jarboe singing. What do you think of it?
|
I'll let you know when I get to it. :p
"hey look at me I bash music that I don't like"
actually, I've only heard one song, and it was decent, I was just razzin' him. Geez, gotta be so serious... |
Okay I'm listening to it now.
I think it's good, it has a strong melody, although her voice doesn't sound the strongest it's not terrible at all. It's not a fantastic track, but I don't think it kills the album. Only think I would say I didn't particularly care for are the parts where she is almost talking saying something about a storm and going fast. |
My trailer trash neighbor called the cops for us playing music too late, so I fought the case and went to court this morning. His argument was so weak the Prosecutor moved to drop the case. So weak that I DIDN'T HAVE TO SAY A WORD. Seriously, the guy needs to buy a set of teeth, quit beatin' off to videos of fornication and get a ****in' life.

It's still a stupid post.
It's still a stupid post.
That was kinda the point. Except for the Scott Stapp part- F Scott Stapp and his yarling ways. heh-heh... the radio station here has a commercial that goes like, A Day In The Life of Scott Stapp "ooohhh Jesus, ohhhh Jesus, I love you Jesus.. woahr" "Hey Scott, this is your buddy Jesus" "Jesus? I love you Jesus." "I love you too Scott, now pull up your pants." I almost wrecked my car laughing. |

Well, what is so good about the new album? I never liked the band at all. |

oohh... Sick Burn. I really felt the heat on that one! It's cool Coke, I love you too. Gimmie a hug, bro. :) |
Well, what is so good about the new album? I never liked the band at all.
Well, first of all, Tremonti didn't write all of the songs himself, i.e. he wasn't responsible for the vocal melodies and all of the guitar parts, and as a result the album is much less populated with songs that feel like Creed songs plus shredding guitar solos. The album is much heavier in general and the vocal melodies are lacking the overabundance of "inflection" the first album had, and are rather much "purer" and strongly sung. I finally get, to a degree, the Chris Cornell comparisons Kennedy was getting from the first album--I didn't hear it at all then but I do now. He's a very good singer. And lastly, since Tremonti wasn't solely responsible for the instrumental songwriting anymore, there are many more interesting layers to the guitar parts. You can hear that this is now a two-guitar band. This allows Tremonti to handle the crazy heavy riffage while Kennedy has nice lush background guitar stuff. The album's overlong, though. The songwriting is not perfect. There are still too many songs that rely on the typical melodic choruses of the Creed school of rock band for my tastes (although I guess that's to be expected, considering), but the solos are much more appropriate for the song's feels, and the guitar work is just beastly throughout. There's only one acoustic ballad as well, and no song that bears any real resemblance to Creed. I think moving off Wind-up Records was a major factor in this. Bottom line: this is just about the only mainstream rock record I can see myself thoroughly enjoying at the moment from any standpoint, musical or otherwise. If there was justice in the world this band would be the one at the top of the heap in the mainstream rock world, instead of the likes of Evanescence and Fall Out Boy and other such groups. |
I seem to remember getting into a very long and repetitive argument with, amongst others, a young man calling himself ripper22 over the merits of the first Alter Bridge album, so I won't dwell on this, but how much better is it than One Day Remains?
|
i tried to record Inferno (unleash the fire) by Symphony X (intro) on guitar for 1 1/2h... i couldn't. once i made nearly zero mistakes, but then the quality wasn't that good. in the last 40min i got worse and worse at playing it.
:( tomorrow there will be a next try ... |
some people sure are dumb
Cain, I'm sorry mang. I love you dude, but Alter Bridge is some of the gayest music I have ever heard. Also, Fall Out Boy is enjoyable to listen to if only for the vocals... not the best singer, but the guy has an interesting style. |

Because of my non gay man love for Tyler and his musical taste, I might end up downloading Infinity On High. |
