Well that would make more sense. I'm glad one of us is actually thinking. :o

If you want something from there, ask for it.

That album makes me happy for some reason.

Zappa 11-28-2005 09:35 PM

My avatar says I'm digging Neu!, and who am I to argue?

Seriously, they're unbelievably good.

Dog 11-28-2005 09:39 PM

I only have their first s/t, but it sure is a doozy.

edit- to zappa

Zappa 11-28-2005 09:41 PM
I only like their first s/t, but that one album sure is a doozy.
So far, that is turning out to be my least favorite. Neu! '75 I am listening to now for the first time, and it's really incredible. Especially the first half is intensely moving stuff, and the rest is really energetic and excellent as well. I love all three of their albums, though.

el doctor 11-28-2005 10:33 PM

I need some krautrock t-shirts. My pseudo-intellectual image would be complete if I could wear "Neu!" across my chest.

Dressy Bessy - Pink Hearts Yellow Moons
John Cale - Paris 1919

Luxor 11-28-2005 10:37 PM

Today:

Explosions In The Sky
Joshua Fit For Battle
Saetia
QOTSA
Sufjan Stevens
Modern Life Is War

Not that different from recent days...

Little Man being Erased 11-28-2005 10:49 PM

Today:

The Decemberists - Picaresque
Antony and the Johnsons - I Am a Bird Now
The Smiths - The Smiths
The Smiths - Meat is Murder
The Smiths - The Queen is Dead

Uh oh, I think I'm turning into a Smiths fanboy. I need more.

morrissey 11-28-2005 10:53 PM

yay!

I've been digging the same old crap. I have been listening to some French music thanks to last.fm, I'm only starting to get familiar with a couple artists (I really like Serge Gainsbourg from the little I've heard) but I think I'll enjoy this style.

edit: and Brigitte Fontaine

The NPC 11-28-2005 10:55 PM

fIREHOSE all day.

Swami 11-28-2005 11:23 PM

fIREHOSE are pretty average.

I listened to Flipper all afternoon, it was kinda cool.

Other diggage today:

Sonny Rollins
The Dictators
Television
The Wipers
The Bronx (man, I love these guys)

JonM 11-28-2005 11:33 PM

You guys may like your fIREHOSE, but I'm currently diggin a different band with inverted capitalization: cLOUDDEAD. They're WEIRD, man. People call it hip hop, which it's definitely not, or at least not entirely. It's a lot more like The Books and Animal Collective and the more ambient Microphones tracks, but there is a little rapping in there, I guess. Anyway, they're cool. Give 'em a shot.

Daniel! 11-29-2005 12:03 AM

I've been listening to NoMeansNo - Wrong all day. I just put on Lou Reed - Transformer and I'm enjoying it too.

asymm 11-29-2005 12:10 AM

Listened to Danger Doom and a few Guided By Voices EPs during sculpture today.

Later I watched Ingmar Bergman's film, Wild Strawberries. It was delicate, melancholy and put me into a distinct mood. So I listened to and thoroughly enjoyed Vashti Bunyan - Lookaftering and The Clientele's Strange Geometry.

I definitely feel the same. It would be an easy one to make, though.

Nice avatar Alex.

Dredg - El Cielo. After so much hype, that's it?!

Also, Martin Grech - Unholy, Morphine - Cure For Pain, and a buttload of MSP. Oh yeah, and the new Darkness record.

I'm just glad I heard Catch Without Arms before the rest of their stuff.

I've only heard his debut, but it's fantastic. A very interesting and unique indie pop.

Like any progressive rock record.

Indeed it is. I might pop that one on a bit later.

So far today:

The Von Bondies - Pawn Shoppe Heart
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Let Love In
The Cure - Boys Don't Cry
It grows on you.

Like any progressive rock record.
Ugh... calling that album progressive rock is an insult to the genre. Sure, there's prog influences, but to me, it's just vapid alternative rock that tries to combine tons of styles and genres without ever really succeeding at any of them.

Roxy Music - Avalon
Wilco - Summerteeth

Sweet album, that's what got me into him/them.

I'm listening to Kanye West's latest album. I finally got it like three months after it came out. I'm slow :(

Luxor 11-29-2005 08:16 PM

That Death To False Screamo compilation is really good.
