Man, he's awesome. You like Teardrop Explodes or solo stuff better?

YDload 09-07-2005 10:58 PM

This morning I walked from my dorm to the dining hall while listening to "I Will Dare." So however long that song is, that's how long it takes me to get there.

It was quite enjoyable, I might do it again tomorrow. A sunny, slightly chilly late-summer's morning is a good time for that.
Man, he's awesome. You like Teardrop Explodes or solo stuff better?
So far I've only got the first Floored Genius compilation but I just got Peggy Suicide so I'm kinding leaning toward his solo stuff. I really ought to pick up an actual Teardrop Explodes album before I make any judgement. Honestly, I'm not liking it all but when he's on, he's certainly pretty darn awesome.

Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin 3
Lightning Bolt - Wonderful Rainbow
Talking Heads - More Songs About Buildings And Food

TalkingHead 09-08-2005 11:53 AM

Julien Neto - Le Fumeur de Cielis

Superb.

YDload 09-08-2005 01:06 PM

I think Killers might be the first 5/5 Iron Maiden album I've listened to. All the other ones seem to have filler songs in them, but this one's complete. Hmph, maybe I'll write up a review for Sputnik.

Iai 09-08-2005 01:52 PM

Rahsaan Roland Kirk - The Inflated Tear (4/5)
Boards Of Canada - Music Has The Right To Children (3.5/5)
Porcupine Tree - Deadwing (3.5/5)
John Coltrane - My Favourite Things (4/5)

And I got half-way through The World Is A Ghetto by War. So far it's probably a 4.5/5.

corporalclegg 09-08-2005 02:54 PM

Whats better, Buddy Miles with Santana or Buddy Miles with Hendrix?

Bukowski 09-08-2005 03:01 PM

Well, Lightning Bolt's upcoming album is amazing.

Ornery Cephalopod 09-08-2005 03:48 PM

Can you send it to me on AIM?

I've been digging Doom today.

And gravity.

Ornery Cephalopod 09-08-2005 04:13 PM

I was so busy playing "I Want to Be a Hulkamaniac" in my head here at school that I forgot to put down Dungen.

So,

Dungen.

I finally got around to hearing his Ta Det Lugnt, and I be a-diggin'.

Daniel! 09-08-2005 05:59 PM

My brother and I found it on cassette about 2 years ago at a Specs for a dollar. I'd have to say "Beach Patrol" is the most important song for any beach goer who doesn't respect women.

Doctor D. 09-08-2005 06:06 PM

Oh, and I've been digging:

Ween
Madlib
Jaylib
Koushik (Thanks to someone on this site...I want to say Robert Crumb...but I dunno)
DANGERDOOM! (Once more. Such a great album)

sketchyjoe 09-08-2005 06:38 PM

Currently I'm digging a punk version of Desolation Row.

Zesty Mordant 09-08-2005 07:24 PM

Bedouin Soundclash
Leftover Crack
Bear vs. Shark
Dropkick Murphys
Anti-Pop Consortium
Mahavishnu Orchestra
