mines costing, £2k, 7 string, mystic dream, matching headstock, inlays, and piezo, so the whole bundle really, thought id go all out. simply cant wait for it.

yea, the d-sonic and the compensated nut are going to be standard on all orders taken from april 2006, or should i say since apr 06, but still.

like i said, if its just the laminated top, im ok with that, and i dont like the idea/look of covered pups on this guitar that much anyway, wouldnt go well with the mystic dream!

i think the pickups on the pre-dsonic model, are custom dimarzios based on the steve's special (i think, not sre on that one) for the bridge, and the air norton for the neck.

but whatever options are on it, it is one AMAZING guitar!
how much is 2000 pounds in US dollars? haha

Lord Abortion 09-07-2006 01:44 PM

about $4500-$5000

Jev 09-07-2006 01:51 PM

But still, it'd be cheaper than that in America.

jpshortstuff 09-07-2006 03:04 PM

ordered ScoreDVD the other day, should be here by Sat. my ToT shirt still isn't here :upset:

every time i watch a DT DVD i always see JM as being more amazing than i thought he was. hes so cool.

ghettoeddo 09-07-2006 04:31 PM

i used a currency converter and it said 3700, which is a lot better than 4 5o 5k....

guitars are always more expensive over here, its ****e, and if we try to import them, we get ****ed over on the import and customs etc etc, so it ends up about them same price.

3700 is still a bit pricey for me at this point. im a poor college student! haha
i ended up shelling $1750 for mine and it doesn't have the floyd rose, locking tuners and whatnot. but the tuners stay in tune and the tremolo works so whatever :]

Atica 09-08-2006 06:22 PM
I want petrucci's adress:(

But yeah if anyones interested, i have found DT's entire back catalogue inc demos, singles, bootlegs, fanclub cds etc on a torrent site if anyone wants the link.
Can you give me the link? thanks :thumb:

Today I went again to see Petruiccis ssignature guitar again, and used it for about half an hour in the store. It is so amazing, the problem is that it costs Q24,600 ($3,075) and I don't have that amount of money. :upset:

None of the EBMM Petrucci models have a Floyd Rose. He worked with Music Man and they designed a tremolo specifically for the way he plays. The result is a trem that stays in tune through dive bombs and flutters almost as well as a Floyd, without the hassles.

There are some videos on youtube I think that show Petrucci working with Music Man designing the guitar.

even though i paid 2000 pounds, if you were to buy the exact same model in america, you wouldnt pay 3700 dollars, you'd pay a lot lot less, dunno what, just less!!!

gonna say, dont they all come stock with locking tuners? and the bridge is a special designed one for JP like someone said.

Lionheart1827 09-09-2006 03:32 AM

Not to sound like a stalker, but I passed by Petrucci's house today.

Beautiful.:thumb:

I would've rung his doorbell as someone from a noble cause and when he opens the door,

OMG I CANNOT BELIEVE IT IT IS MR PETRUCCI /turns conversation to guitar

lol
I probably would have done the same thing.

But I don't think I'd be able to talk, I'd just stare at his biceps

Edit: Or should that be a : naughty: ? :p

Hmm.
Either works. hahahaha. I would've come up with the most retarded reason to ring the doorbell, if needed. :naughty:

Lionheart1827 09-09-2006 04:37 AM

Haha, I dont know if I'd be able to go up and ring it. He seems like the kind of person that enjoys his privacy. I dont want to compromise that.:thumb:

However, If I was his neighbor.:naughty:

Anyway, I passed by after I had some dinner with a friend, it was around 10:30 at night so no pics. It looks like one of those houses you see in magazines, not too huge, but impressive. Lots of foilage. Looks brand new.:thumb:

Haha, I'm a stalker :(

Perhaps Crickets 09-09-2006 05:05 AM

ya pansy! Not ringing his doorbell. Just think of "the drama queen method" You were being attacked by big scary angry black men and you get a hug from him! hahahhahahaha

Lord Abortion 09-09-2006 08:47 AM

Hello Mr Petrucci, we're with NFAG. (National Federation for Awesome Guitarists)

ghettoeddo 09-09-2006 05:48 PM

i REALLY dont think trying to get into personal touch with him is a good idea haha

now...to do something that would get me INVITED is a different story...

Some sort of military like drop in from the sky? I guess that'd work.

genious.

I'm sure most of you guys have seen this, but if you haven't then its worth posting.

eug008 09-09-2006 11:01 PM

Yeah we've already seen it, pretty cool neverless

Lionheart1827 09-10-2006 12:41 AM

I knew just about all of that stuff, but that bit in Octavarium about Intervals in which portnoy says "Root, second, third," and it would play a part of each song, I never noticed that.:thumb:

Inkstar 09-10-2006 04:15 AM

Yeah I didn't notice it before I read it either, but at the time I hadn't actually listened to the song much anyway.

Jev 09-10-2006 08:42 AM

I actually thought it was the other way round at first after reading that site.
I thought Portnoy said "root" and so on in the actual songs that were sampled.

jpshortstuff 09-10-2006 10:43 AM

Score came on friday. Sacrificed sons is much better than i thought it was. yeah.

@petrucci'shouse - he probably has a monkey butler to open the door for him and chase away potential stalkers.

Atica 09-10-2006 11:41 AM

Thanks inassociationwithdeanlearner. :)
My friend told me that Score is here at my country, I'll go today to see if it is true and buy it.

ghettoeddo 09-10-2006 12:28 PM

score should be shipped to every country in this world.

the biggest improvement was labrie's voice. such a huge difference from budokan

Lord Abortion 09-10-2006 12:56 PM

James only went slightly downhill on LATB on the encores.
And only on the highnotes, his delivery on Disappear is magnificent.

fuzzyhair 09-10-2006 02:15 PM

My only complaint was on the Score extras where they play Honor Thy Father, James is all out of breath. But it is a heavy song, so that makes up for it.

eug008 09-10-2006 05:42 PM

Hows the quality of the extras?

Inkstar 09-10-2006 07:29 PM

Still waiting on my copy of SCORE DVD... JB Hi-Fi is gay.

ghettoeddo 09-10-2006 11:39 PM
Hows the quality of the extras?
the great debate is actually quite good.
honor thy father was meh...but it's a meh song to begin with.
and another day left a lot to be desired as well, but wasn't wholly bad.

wish there was live footage of blind faith or something...

Chu 09-10-2006 11:53 PM

I always thought Honour Thy Father was one of the better songs from ToT, well until I found out that I didn't have the correct ToT

Now I really want to get ToT, so I can see why it gets so much flak.

I have a few of the correct ToT songs, but As I Am, and This Dying Soul are at least 2 tracks I have that are mislabled.
