BoboTheRagingHobo 12-24-2004 08:16 PM

I got my Trans-Siberian Orchestra tickets today.

Seeing them the 28th, oh ya.

Bartender 12-24-2004 08:18 PM

I still haven't heard anything by them. I went looking in stores (briefly, a couple of nights ago), but could only find one album of thiers. It wasn't one I'd heard of (i.e. it wasn't Christmas Eve..), and it was badly overpriced (£16.99), so I didn't bother.

Simple Man 12-24-2004 08:18 PM

Were they alot?

You should really do your best to get one (or all) of their CDs. I was exactly the same as you, then I bought a CD and was completely blown away.

It really doesn't matter what album you buy, they are all great and incredible.
Were they alot?
The tickets? If so, they were 35 bucks a pop.

Bartender 12-24-2004 09:40 PM

Down in the workshop, all the elves were making toys,
For the good gentile girls, and the good gentile boys,
When the Boss busted in; nearly scared 'em half to death,
Had a rifle in his hands, and cheap whiskey on his breath,

From his beard to his boots, he was covered in ammo,
Like a big, fat, drunk, disgruntled Yuletide Rambo,
And he smiled as he said, with a twinkle in his eye,
"Merry Christmas to all, now you're all gonna die!"

Well the workshop is gone now; he decided to bomb it,
Everywhere you'll find pieces of Cupid and Comet,
And he tied up his helpers, yes he held the elves hostage,
And he ground up poor Rudolph into reindeer sausage.

He got Dancer and Prancer with an old German Luger,
And he slashed up Dasher, just like Freddy Krueger,
And he picked up a flamethrower, and he barbequeued Blitzen,
And he took a big bite, said "It tastes just like chicken."

The night Santa went crazy, the night Chris Cringle went nuts,
Now you can't hardly walk around the North Pole, without stepping in reindeer guts.

There's the National Guard and the FBI,
There's a van from the Eyewitness news, and helicopters circling round in the sky,
And the bullets are flying, the body count's rising, and everyone's dying to know,
Oh, Santa, why?
You used to be such a jolly guy.

Yes, my friends now, well, Santa's doing time,
In a federal prison, for his infamous crime,
Hey listen here now, don't you cry no more tears,
He'll be out, with good behaviour, in seven hundred more years,

But now Vixen's in therapy,
And Donder's still nervous,
And the elves all got jobs working for the postal service,
And they say Mrs Claus, she's on the phone every night,
With a lawyer, negotiating the movie rights,
Lemme tell you 'bout..

My recommended Christmas download, I think.

16 MINUTES UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!!

So how is everyone?

Bartender is that the Weird Al song?

Badmoon 12-24-2004 11:43 PM

If I hadn't had my accounts merged, tommorow would be my first MX birthday.

I love that song.

BoboTheRagingHobo 12-24-2004 11:46 PM

I got to get my presents early...

Got those Trans Siberian Orchestra tickets, 100 bucks and 50 bucks credit at mp3choose.com to blow...

Since songs on there are only 10 cents a song, I can get quite a few albums with 50 bucks.

Man, I did something really evil tonight. I had a deer get hit in front of my house. Its laying right beside the road. At a show we were playing this past week they handed out red noses that blinked when you put them on.

So, I stick this red nose on the road kill and turn it so its facing traffic. Man, people were pulling over, taking pictures, it was funny as hell!

Riva 12-25-2004 01:02 AM

Wow. Santa is gonna be pissed at you, mate. :D

You excited bout Christmas, SFK?

We already had ours

Paranoidd 12-25-2004 09:58 AM

Just wanted to drop in and say Merry Christmas (or whatever you follow) to all.

I'm off to do visits, have a good one.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 12-25-2004 10:59 AM

Merry Christmas to all. Im going to Mexico for a week, so addios amigos. :)

Dancin' Man 12-25-2004 11:42 AM

So I was thinking.

You know how there are some things that you do and have been doing for a long time but didn't really get started seriously right when you began doing it?

/confusing

Like guitar. I started "playing" 5 years ago but didn't really start to practice and get better until like 2 years ago. Does anyone else do this? You have a revelation and all of a sudden one day think, "I want to get better" and then you try hard and practice and...get better?

Distant Echoes 12-25-2004 11:56 AM

Ive been playing drums for a while now. I dont go to the D&P forums because i get the same questions over and over again, and it gets boring, but i can help you out with anything you need to improve on. In fact i have a few people IMing me now on drums...mostly because of my articles in the Lessons section. But i might start posting lessons on a new website since the creator of it personally asked me to do it.

But i didnt get one drum related thing for x-mas, but alot of guitar stuff, including a Boss CS3 compressor/sustainer pedal. It sounds like **** on my little 10-watt amp but im getting a new one with all my money. Either a Behringer V-tone or a Vox valvetronox, but i dont know much about either, but im buying one very soon

BoboTheRagingHobo 12-25-2004 03:37 PM

I played guitar for a good 3 years before I decided " I actually want to get good at this ". Now I have a teacher, been playing seriously for a year and improving and such.

shortass 12-25-2004 03:40 PM

I did it with bass but it was more 2 months than years

Silenius 12-25-2004 03:43 PM

I take playing bass seriously and just play stuff for fun on my electric.

Arucard 12-25-2004 04:24 PM

Drums. Ive been playing 3 years about, last 1 and a half improving and rocking out in a couple of bands.

munky_magik 12-25-2004 04:35 PM

/has been playing guitar for four years, but hasn't really taken it seriously untill recently.
Did everyone have a good Christmas?

shortass 12-25-2004 04:43 PM

Yes thanks!
You?

lunch998 12-25-2004 04:48 PM

I've played poker with my family for about 10 years, but only started to really focus and improve about 2 years ago.

Yes my Christmas was good, how was yours?

BoboTheRagingHobo 12-25-2004 06:23 PM
How was your christmas then?
It was okay; nice meal, a bit of fun with relatives and such. Gift-wise, got a few books, which may be good, I don't know yet, along with some money, and socks.

The money leaves me with a tough decision though; do I put it towards saving for a Lazy Boy, or carry on with buying CDs and DVDs and things?

CaptainWaits 12-25-2004 07:19 PM
