but they get to cool cool and have super awsome voices

i actually thought about taking it up

but if you wana buy a pack of 20cigs here it will cost you about $11 american dollars a pack

then get some $5 a gallon petrol
down here in the good old sweet south cigarettes are $2.99-$4.75 a pack. and you can smoke inside bars.

Blue_Moon 10-14-2010 06:50 PM

thats the way it should be really

ridiculous how expensive stuff is here, and/or how cheap shit is over there!

superjoe 10-14-2010 07:28 PM

i mean, in most big cities in the north is 10-11 a pack. the south just has cheap shit. gas is $2.63/gallon today.

Blue_Moon 10-14-2010 07:43 PM

well similar here, in a proper capital city, even a few miles outside it it gets cheaper, but as a whole still pretty bad, but it is a tiny island after all

The_Mop 10-15-2010 03:11 AM

K so it turns out my dissertation project is pretty fearsome, mainly because I don't think my supervisor understands the musical side of synthesizers..... or really how simply you can utilise MIDI without having to control EVERYTHING through the keyboard....

The worst thing is there's so many pitfalls with just the midi and its only the input.... Gah. That said though, if everything turns out ok and it sounds decent, expect to see some prog epicz examples on YouTube :p

Anywho, how be the lod?

fingers mccoy 10-15-2010 06:16 AM

ok i'm gonna go with a saffron vanilla and toasted almond sponge, honey and apricots in the filling and mascarpone and coconut cream in the frosting. Sound good?

Saffron: no
vanilla: yes
Almond: Maybe, not a fan but it would work nicely
honey+apricots: not the way I'd have gone but interesting.
Mascopne: no, not in this context.
Coconut: yes

But there you go. Post pics of cake.

guitarbaz 10-15-2010 06:43 AM

cake?

whatever happened to sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll?

youngsters these days....

Sad But True 10-15-2010 07:14 AM

I eat the cake while doing the other 3.

Also: Not that anyone listened to it but I've done a better mix on my Spitfire cover.

you can do all three of those things while baking delicious treats and they all go hand in hand to some extent.

guitarbaz 10-15-2010 07:42 AM

hash cake perhaps?

a suitable compromise between rock'n'roll wildness and confectionary

fingers mccoy 10-15-2010 07:45 AM

mascarpone is basically just slightly curdled double cream, so i'm using that to bring the acidity in that you suggested with the lemon.

the other things are just like classic apricot flavour pairings and the saffron will make the cake nice and yellow which i think the lass will appreciate.

i will post pics. also making foccaccia.

my last project:

indeed.

i've actually never had a good space cake and several of my friends down in london are stoners so i might make one of those some time

also for the record i don't actually like eating cake that much, it's just a hobby.

Hmm, good point. I should try and bake a decent cheesecake when I move into my place in a few weeks, I'm always criticising everyone else's so I might as well have a go at it myself.

The_Mop 10-15-2010 08:46 AM

Sup bakerylod.

Spitfire cover is ace, drum sound is a bit nasty but everything else is pretty much perfect. Good job man!

Did you listen to the first of second mix? What do you think needs doing to the drums? My standard metal mix sounded empty on it so i just tried to beef it up and make it more acoustic sounding.

Also I love you.

Blue_Moon 10-15-2010 10:04 AM

anyone on soundcloud?

http://soundcloud.com/alanmckenna

only updated ine recently with proper stuff rather than just some random half arsed crap

post em here, and give em a whirl

Apricots love brandy!

When your sponge comes out of the oven, while it's still hot, poke little holes in it and pour over a syrup made from Brandy and Muscavado Sugar, it'll stay really moist and delicious.

Yeah listened to part of the first one, it sounds kinda a bit too distorted. Needs to be a bit more present in the mix, maybe compress it a bit more.

GuitarBizarre 10-15-2010 12:10 PM

ladies and gents, my bass is here.

GuitarBizarre 10-15-2010 02:32 PM

£345 including shipping and a gig bag.

Bruce E Kinesis 10-15-2010 02:50 PM

flared maple bleughghghgh

Sad But True 10-15-2010 09:01 PM

I actually really like flamed maple on certain guitars, i.e., that one. Or my Washburn.

But anyway, I just got in from drinking at my mate's place as my dad was getting up to go on holiday.

"Oh, hey old guy what you doing up this late?"
"It's like 4am"
"Well, shit. So, uh, have fun yeah?"
"Will do boy"
"later"

My dad is awesome :D
