No way, Jason had a natural love for music, he started when he was 5.
It's because when you have long ones (user titles that is...) it makes the screen go wider for everyone so they only let you have a certain amount of characters to prevent it...I think.
I have a really long one, no one notices. :naughty:

This thread is becoming more and more twisted as time goes on.
Becker was obviously deprived as a child...his parents locked him in his room and refused to let him come out until he played his guitar for 24 hour straight.
nobody who is forced to play music, can get so good and can develop such a passion for music... i don't believe this.

out_of_tune 11-20-2005 02:14 PM

Hey cool, I never really come into the rock/metal forum(mostly guitar) and noticed this forum. I have really been getting into COB lately and its cool to see some many other people like them as well. Just one question, Which EMG does Alexi Laiho use in his sig guitar?

Shadows 11-20-2005 02:27 PM

It's a passive one. I think an H4. Pretty unusual for him to choose a mediocre pickup when he could have any one he wanted for free. One more reason for me to dislike his new guitars. :(

I've been thinking about a pickup switch lately too.

Toaster 11-20-2005 02:29 PM

He probably just prefers the H4. Maybe when he goes on tour he doesn't carry batteries, I don't know.

Shadows 11-20-2005 02:33 PM

Batteries aren't that big of a deal though. They last hundreds of hours, and when he's on the road it can't be that difficult for him to stop ad go to the nearest gas station or something. And since he only has one pickup in his guitar they'll last even longer.

Toaster 11-20-2005 02:46 PM

Yeah. I was kidding, I have a pair of active EMG's. I can't see why he wouldn't want to use them. Probably something in the sound he doesn't like.

Shadows 11-20-2005 02:47 PM

I think he said sometime that he prefers the passive sound. I don't understand that though. I have a pair of active EMG's and I love the sound.

Shadows Within 11-20-2005 02:55 PM

BTW how old Is everyone in cob anyway?

its just a matter of opinion...some people prefer actives and others prefer passive...

Mid 20's, except Roope, who's quite a bit older.

Forlorn Hope 11-20-2005 02:59 PM

i think Roope is 35?

blue3 11-20-2005 03:02 PM

Yeah, I think. I know he was 30 something.. Alexi is 26.

Shadows 11-20-2005 03:03 PM

They were pretty young when they started.

Toaster 11-20-2005 03:05 PM
i think Roope is 35?
Really? That's old, man. I mean, it's gotta be weird being in a band with dudes 10 years younger than you are. He hasn't aged well either (watch Lamb of God's Killedelphia).

MRDuCran 11-20-2005 03:32 PM

I was going to rip the audio from that bit with Roope last night but it wouldln't record.

Everytime I Die!!

Shadows 11-20-2005 04:46 PM

No, it's Living Dead Beat.

The H4 is a form of the HZ.

I need some proof here. I've read several times that his fave is Everytime I Die.

I actually haven't looked at the new site yet.

Corn_Holio 11-20-2005 04:54 PM

They rule! Alexi rules! Well some of my favorite songs are Trashed, Lost & Strungout, Knuckleduster, In Your Face, Needled 24/7, You're Better Off Dead, Everytime I Die, Warheart, Deadnight Warrior, and pretty much all their other songs are good too.
