Hey, if I were to upload a Jane's Addiction ablum to show why you should've voted for them in Modern Rock would I be allowed to put it up or would it be a 'no no' because we aren't supposed to upload full albums in the YSI Thread does that carry over?

munky_magik 08-26-2005 10:39 AM

Upload a track or two if you really must, I doubt many people who didn't vote Jane's are going to spend their time downloading a full album.

I would just leave it though, you can't force people to vote for someone and most of the people voting have probably heard Jane's.

Jacaranda 08-26-2005 10:41 AM

Oh, well duh, why didn't I think of that. Thanks!
Well I know at least 1-2 people would maybe listen to it and like it and that'd make me happy.
Hiya.

Listen, I saw there was some commotion in the Album Release Date Thread.

I would like to render my services. I consider myself reliable. I might look like a n00b from my post count, but I have accually been with MX since 3 years ago (The Rabbit Flies High). I have a thorough understanding of the responsibilities required.

Anyway, if the thread-starter does not comply with Wish's demands, I will be happy to help out. Let me know what you think.

Thank you. :)

I decided, why can't I do this myself.
so I just typed it all out.

all credit for the thread Idea goes to the original thread starter.

if a mod Thinks this is not a good thread close mine, and leave the other open :)

You have to have been registerd for 24 hours before being able to start threads.
It's a spam precaution.

Is it against R&M rules to occaisionally throw abuse into the pop-punk boards....? Because I actually met a group of these people they are every negative stereotype made up about them amplified.....

Pop Punk has different rules than R&M. That being said, don't do it because it's; a waste of time, not very nice, and will most likely get you banned.

Pop-Punk has no mods.

That said, if anyone wants to start a problem on the boards, I will lobby for a month's ban, as you have been forwarned by myself and Ali now. :)

Since PP doesn't need all that much Modding I thought they would've just asked one of the Punk mods to look after it.

Puma 08-26-2005 02:30 PM

True that.

So stay outta our forum spanky, ya stupid bastard.

Angry Balled Fists! 08-26-2005 02:31 PM

Even if it's not in the rules, if I see a R&M user harrassing the Pop-Punk forum, I'll ban that user. That behavior is unacceptable, even if you don't start it.

It should be in the guitar forum:

BludgeonySteve 08-26-2005 08:42 PM

I'd like to compliment Sonor Ken on banning people for ilegal threads. Ignorance should be no excuse :). Not even for new users.

edit: I would like all of the mods to follow Ken's example and ban this guy. http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=384116 . Yes, Hawthorne Heights blows, but there's no reason to make a thread about it.

SonorKen 08-26-2005 08:44 PM

That dude had 600 posts and has done stupid crap like this before and I let it slide, its lesson time!

Man alive, did ya see all those crap threads in a matter of 10 seconds!

I had actually already banned ObscuredByClouds for creating a thread specifically to flame a band.

Syncratic 08-26-2005 08:46 PM

Maybe you should only be allowed to view the rules for the first 24 hours, then can only be allowed to make threads after 100 posts?

Meh, people are either really lazy or illiterate.

RiceMonster 08-26-2005 08:53 PM

Nah. The rules are constantly updating, and if someone doesn't read them in that time, they should still be able to go and do so.

Daven 08-26-2005 08:54 PM

I agree with MJK, you should have more than 100 posts to make thread.

Syncratic 08-26-2005 08:57 PM

Yeah, there seems to be a high demand for that rule amendment.

SonorKen 08-26-2005 08:59 PM

The important thing with the rules is for people to look for the UD (update) tag in the name of the thread. This lets ALL the users know when the rules have been updated.

As far as new members, usually you guys kind of give them direction as to how to post, you guys kick ***!

Jom 08-26-2005 09:07 PM
Yeah, there seems to be a high demand for that rule amendment.
Uh, two people is "high demand?" Please.

Syncratic 08-26-2005 09:08 PM
Uh, two people is "high demand?" Please.
I didn't mean in this thread, just generally, I've seen a lot of people wanting this.

Maybe the choice of 'high deman' wasn't warranted.

I'd say, it's something people would like to see.
