I enjoy the Bled.
I love Misery Signals.
I have not heard the new BB cd.

axeslinga_32 02-05-2005 07:39 PM

cool man, i had never heard of the bled before i checked them out and bought the cd almost immediately, it's awesome. I was just wondering if they are respected in communities, such as this.

shane italian 02-05-2005 07:40 PM

Actually, most of the people in here dislike them, but I actually think they're a cool band. They're great fun live too, check out one of their shows when you can.

axeslinga_32 02-05-2005 07:51 PM

awesome man, i hear alot of cure influence in their music, and they just stand out in genre where so many bands are doing the same thing.. in my opinion.

"You Know Who's Seatbelt" and "Spitshine Sonata" are both awesome songs.

Other than that, they aren't too special in my opinion.

And Misery Signals is the best metalcore band of 2004. (To me)

young, loud and andrew 02-05-2005 08:14 PM

Underminded= best metalcore band of 2004. or maybe He Is Legend if you'd consider them metalcore.

I bought Pass The Flask over a year ago, and it's only recently that I've been able to appreciate its greatness. The Bled are really really good, and I love playing guitar along with their songs... gotta love the breakdowns. dun dun dun neener neener neener

Are they on the Hellfest DVD or something? I remember seeing a live video of them and they were pretty cool...faggy, but cool.

I've listened to Underminded non stop since September, but I still don't get the feeling from them that I get from Misery Signals. Misery Signals is just so...perfect. Beautiful melodies and some amazing breakdowns in the same song.

And there's the originality factor. No other band sounds quite like Misery Signals. Even 7A7P doesn't compete. Underminded has a huge Thrice quality to them, and it's obvious that they're an influence. Especially in "The Inquisition"

Underminded comes in second, though.

cbmartinez 02-05-2005 08:32 PM

Misery Signals can sound pretty generic sometimes though.
Misery Signals can sound pretty generic sometimes though.
Nope, sorry, Chris.

cbmartinez 02-05-2005 09:28 PM

No, I love them, but a lot of their progressions and stuff are generic.

capri sun junkie 02-05-2005 10:55 PM

I like Misery Signals quite a bit.

BuddyBigsby 02-06-2005 12:13 AM

Verizon are idiots and my DSL is down so my posting is going to be sparse the next week.

Rise Against/Only Crime on Wednesday, Make Move/Final Fight/Graf Orlock/Carry the Casket/Fortunate Son/others on Friday, ladies.

SoberTill2 02-06-2005 01:11 AM

quick question, can some one please tell me wuts so good about hardcore, and tell me why they like it. it seems alot of kids around here are realy in to it, i just dont understand why, in not saying it sucks,i just dont get it

note:i didnt bother reading ALL that stuff

BuddyBigsby 02-06-2005 01:29 AM

They're not into hardcore. Trust me. Go ask in R/M's weekly Atreyu thread, not here.

Tangy zizzle 02-06-2005 04:16 AM

Is there a Mint Chicks fanbase here at all?

If there is then, their debut album "fuck the golden youth" is being released very soon, and it'll make you think "damm, you just know the Blood Brothers wished they were this band".

Go and listen.

cbmartinez 02-06-2005 10:36 AM

Where's the Throwdown show at?

Sep 02-06-2005 10:40 AM
hey all, it's been a while since i showed my face in here but i got some great shows coming up:

18/2 = shadows fall/ as i lay dying/ parkway drive
26/2 = dillinger escape plan
10/5 = unearth/norma jean/atreyu

also, what does everyone here think of the bled, misery signals and the new blood brothers record?
I like the Bled. What I've heard off Crimes is great. Misery Signals are alright.

young, loud and andrew 02-06-2005 10:41 AM

The Knitting Factory. I've still only heard 3 Throwdown songs. I should probably check more of their stuff out. I love It Dies Today though, and I'm sure I'll like Cold War once I check them out. The Chariot is just OK, but they probably deserve more of a listen too.

I think old Underminded sounds like Identity Crisis-era Thrice. The new stuff doesn't have that much of a Thrice resemblance though. Maybe it's just me...

Let's Chop Cats! 02-06-2005 11:14 AM

Awesome another show. Throwdown, Bane, 7 Seconds all within a week. That is amazing.

cbmartinez 02-06-2005 11:38 AM

The vocals are the most noticable thing. They sound exactly like Dustin's. The guitar leads kind of resemble Thrice but the chugging throws a lot of people of when I reccomend them to Thrice fans.

Sep 02-06-2005 11:40 AM

I just realized how genious the intro to Thrice's Deadbolt is. It is incredible.

cbmartinez 02-06-2005 11:55 AM

Yeah, Teppei is fucking incredible. That intro is so fast.

A-Life-Less-Plagued 02-06-2005 12:13 PM

Just ordered Terror - Lowest of the Low and a Terror hoodie from bridge 9. Hope it doesn't take forever to get here this time.

40 oz 2 freedom 02-06-2005 12:58 PM

I just practiced with that band last night and it was fucking awesome.
