Try Pleasure To Kill or Terrible Certainty, all their early stuff is great.

SLATANIC-666 03-21-2005 02:26 AM
Alright, sorry to screw up the conversation goin here, but what is the best Kreator album to start out on? Because I've heard theyr'e really really good.
So if you could help me out, thanks.
Any of the first 5 but Pleasure to Kill is a must.
If you're feeling really adventerous you might wanna check out the new one Enemy of God, it's not bad :thumb:

Apocalyptic Raids 03-21-2005 05:03 AM

Pleasure To Kill is a classic, also try Coma Of Souls.

LordDargon 03-21-2005 06:19 AM
Dargon, The Haunted aren't whiffle-thrash. They aren't even thrash!

Whiffle-thrash is highly polished (production-wise) and politically charged thrash with watered-down and repetitive riffs. Some whiffle-thrash is good though, because the riffs are good at times and don't bore you when they are repeated. Note how in my profile I stated against bad whiffle-thrash.

Notable whiffle-thrash albums:

Testament - Practice What You Preach

Exodus - Fabulous Disaster (Not fully a whiffed album, though helped usher in the genre. An example of a good "whiffed" thrash album.)

Exodus - Impact Is Imminent (WHIFF! Only Death Decides is a good song though.)

:thumb:
Oh, I wasn't sure. I thought it was like gaythenburg/thrash stuff. Thanks.

I'm going to have to check out Leviathan now.

ATTN: We have our first poseur.

ThrashMaster27 03-21-2005 07:29 AM

You're gonna have people stealing your avatar without you knowing. There's sod all you can do about it either. You can cyber slap them, that's about it.

NP: Anthrax - Metal Thrashing Mad (Joey Belladonna Version)

Actually, I could find their address and send them anthrax via the mail.

NP: Andralls - Rotten Money
I've also met the guys in Death Angel, they signed my Ultra-Violence vinyl. :)
Thats cool, sucks about them being on a hiatus now

metal-militia 03-21-2005 11:52 AM
I met GARY AND TOM, NOT THE WHOLE BAND. :p
Buh, still good :thumb:

Foreign: i said DTP next, buy it now dammit  :)

For Kreator get Pleasure to Kill.

ThrashMaster is right. There will always be people taking the avatar, and theres bugger all to do about it.

LordDargon 03-21-2005 11:56 AM

Well, actually, "cyber-slapping" can be highly effective on n00bs.

ATTN: ALL FANS OF EXCELLENT SPEED METAL
Get Exciter - Heavy Metal Maniacs and Angel Dust - Into the Dark Past NOW.

Speaking of excellent speed metal, I got Agent Steel's Mad Locust Rising EP today. It delivers pure and unadaultarated ownage.

metal-militia 03-21-2005 12:22 PM

Exciter are indeed good, everyone go check them out. I've got a few Angel Dust tracks but i haven't listened to them in ages.

NP: Coroner - New Breed

RCA 03-21-2005 01:00 PM

I've got everything by Exciter and Angel Dust, solid stuff. I like Running Wild and Agent Steel more though.

NP: Queensryche - Queen of the Reich \m/

Why would you wanna send 'em decent music :p

Too early, crap jokes imminent.

Made me laugh.

Arise II 03-21-2005 03:18 PM

Whats a better waste of mone... errr, investment :p

Coma Of Souls

or

Extreme Aggressions?

Oh, and does anyone know where I can find some songs off of Violators "Violent Mosh"?

RCA 03-21-2005 03:21 PM

Both are good to get, but you'll be more satisfied in getting Extreme Aggressions first and then getting Coma of Souls. It'll be better for you to listen to the progression of style between those two albums.

I think Violator has some sample tracks on their website, although the site is entirely in Portuguese. Your best bet is to use a p2p program to d/l some Violator.

ThrashMaster27 03-21-2005 03:22 PM

They're my 2 faves strangely enough. There's little between the 2 in regard to being great albums. I always pick Extreme Aggression over Coma of Souls, but it's usually depending on my weekly mood.

NP: Hobbs Angel of Death - Crucifixion

metal-militia 03-21-2005 04:23 PM

Hobbs Angel of Death! Good band, everyone should check them out. Them and Slaughter Lord are the only 2 Australian thrash bands i can think of, and both are good.

NP: Mordred - Spellbound

RCA 03-21-2005 04:26 PM

I think HAoD are pretty mediocre, although good at times.

Does anybody own that Atrocity Exhibition release that Dark Angel put out?

SLATANIC-666 03-21-2005 04:30 PM
Why would you wanna send 'em decent music :p

I laughed, but I've had a few beers so I'm likely to laugh at almost anything :p

NP: Venom - Heaven's on Fire \m/

I've been looking around for that, but no success as of yet. I do know where I could find a post-Dark-Angel demo, by a band under a different name, although I forget the name now.

ThrashMaster: I laughed

RCA: Your new avatar is rendered obsolete by the fact that all poseurs are ignorant. So, it's like saying "Death to Ignorant Ignoramuses". Kinda redundant.

I tried to check out HAoD a while ago, but I couldn't get anything. Another Aussie thrash band is Mortal Sin, though I've not heard them.

RCA 03-21-2005 05:08 PM

I feel my avatar displays a correct message.

NP: Heathen - Set Me Free (Sweet cover)

Well, as long as you keep on thrashin'. I hope you don't think any less of me after that... thread.

NP: Demolition Hammer - Skull Fracturing Nightmare

Oh yes, THRASH 'TIL DEATH!!!

I don't think any less of you, just keep that elitist attitude of yours to a minimum. That's where you get yourself into scrambles with other users.

I don't care about the other users, I care about the other THRASHING USERS!

THRASH 'TILL MOTHERFUCKING DEATH!

NP: Exodus - Metal Command

EDIT: Anyone have any ideas on what the hell Sodom's Burst Command Til War is supposed to mean?

\m/

I think "Burst Command" is military lingo, I'll check into it.

EDIT: After giving another listen to both Heathen albums, I like Breaking The Silence more. :thumb:

ThrashMaster27 03-21-2005 05:57 PM

Yeah, Breaking The Silence is the better choice for me aswell. Fave Heathen song is Death By Hanging though, tis a classic. I know what you mean about Hobbs Angel of Death aswell, they are rather average. Considering they only released 2 albums, only one which is 'mostly' good. Still! very enjoyable. Weird that their bassist is in Destroyer 666 now aswell.

NP: Deadborn - Condemned To Perdition

What a switch, from HAoD to D666!

I feel Darkness Descends is getting a bit overrated as of late. While it definately is great, it isn't the greatest. I think I'm going to change my review of it, but it still gets five stars.

ForiegnPenguin 03-21-2005 06:32 PM

I liked TDNH better.

RCA 03-21-2005 06:38 PM
I liked TDNH better.
That album is slowly growing on me again, but whenever I go back and listen to DD I can't help but enjoy it more.

Shock here: I enjoy Reign In Blood more than I do Darkness Descends.

ForiegnPenguin 03-21-2005 07:28 PM

Well, its not considered by many to be the number one thrash records for nothing, but I've always like Hell Awaits and Show No Mercy far better.
