Maybe it was a way to convey the void within them?

ABOUT: Sigur Ros album...

Eliminator 01-25-2007 06:17 PM

i try telling myself that sigur ros are boring, but every time i listen to them i prove myself wrong for about an hour

TojesDolan 01-25-2007 06:20 PM

Well any of you who feel less negative about post-rock I recently happened upon an AMAZING british post-rock act called 'The Pirate Ship Quintet'. They're causing quite a stir from what I gather, I read a rave review of their record on thesilentballet.com apparently it's not out yet but i think it will be soon. Check it out www.thepirateshipquintet.co.uk and www.myspace.com/thepirateshipquintet

So the line-up of the festival I was talking about some time ago is now complete, and I'm pretty sure I'm going. The last name they added is Yndi Halda, which is pretty damn awesome, I love that band. Check out the full line-up:

a whisper in the noise (us)
arnaud michniak (f)
audrey (swe)
bracken (uk)
crippled black phoenix (uk)
frank shinobi (b)
k-branding (b)
the matt elliott foundation (uk) - dj set
milenasong (d)
part chimp (uk)
pelican (us)
pentark (b)
rothko (uk)
yndi halda (uk)

Fresh, and only 12 euros. :)

bwnstl 01-31-2007 10:26 AM

^^^^ Nice.

I've been listening to Rosetta - Departe over and over lately. Such an amazing song.

Does anyone hear any musical similarities between Mouth of the Architect and Rosetta? They sound really similar a lot of times to me.

AlienEater 01-31-2007 10:45 AM

mota are fairly good

Txus 01-31-2007 10:12 PM

Mare are sooo damn good.

rhcp pman 02-02-2007 05:00 PM

As much as I love post rock/metal, it is so goddamn annoyingly hard to find. It's maddening - I have gigs upon gigs of psychedelia which I guarantee is almost completely unheard of, but I have trouble finding post rock. I have a total of maybe 20 post rock/metal bands in my collection.

Where do you guys get your post rock? I haven't found any DC++ hubs dedicated to it.

Kage 02-02-2007 05:02 PM

I've got a source for all the post rock you could ever dream of and way more.

It's sort of a clandestine operation, very hush-hush, so I can't give out any links at this time.

Eliminator 02-02-2007 05:03 PM

new DMST is good

Txus 02-02-2007 05:06 PM

For post rock I usually use Albumbase.com

Auberge le Mouton Noir 02-02-2007 05:08 PM

Txus 02-03-2007 11:17 AM

Ohh yeah, it was really good. I used it to sleep last week, perfect for that :)

Holy sh1t, thank you!!!

If anyone else has sources for stuff, please post them. I've heard that the uni internet is utter crap, so I really only have about 16 days of downloading left. :(

Txus 02-04-2007 08:58 AM

My favorite Japanese band is Te. Freaking amazing.

I haven't heard any Envy though :(

Kyle 02-04-2007 09:07 AM

It never really struck me how much great Japanese music there is, I love Mono.

AlienEater 02-04-2007 10:01 AM

Mono are cool.

They're heavy like Beethoven not Black Sabbath, apperently

Kayetan 02-04-2007 10:15 AM
rachel's is mad good
123

How does this blog not have any GY!BE?

:upset:

Kage 02-04-2007 03:36 PM

Well, it's kinda like if you've found your way there, you're already into post rock and GYBE is a bit of given for that.

Dr. Jake Destructo 02-04-2007 03:37 PM

Yeah well I do things backwards. I'm still a mad GY! noob.

Kage 02-04-2007 03:38 PM

 Unacceptable.

Auberge le Mouton Noir 02-04-2007 05:12 PM
