You might want to try giving Electric Wizard another go - they took a bit of time to grow on me.
Okay I will. Ill get Dopethrone like was suggested.

Btw I also started listening to my Pentagram CD, and I am loving it, Liebling is one hell of a singer and sometimes can even sound a bit like Ozzy Osbourne, I really noticed that in the song "Relentless"
Orodruin is bloody great. I love Pierced by Cruel Winds - that section from the middle to the end is so good.
Yeah, great band. Epicurean Mass is awesome. and the split with Reverend Bizarre is also great.

You would probably like November's Doom.
Yeah, great band. Epicurean Mass is awesome. and the split with Reverend Bizarre is also great.
Yeah, the split is good. The annoying thing that I don't know how to categorise my doom splits - that split could go in the Orodruin folder or Reverend Bizarre. I might just put them all in one folder.

Has anyone heard Disembowelment? I've only heard good things about them, but I haven't got any of their albums yet.

Sure thing. I tried downloading it a while back, but I was kicked from the DC++ hub and I didn't even get away with a song...

I'll get it as soon as I can :).

rippa32 07-19-2006 04:56 AM

Go by yourself.

Kyle 07-19-2006 05:04 AM

Missed = past tense.

I would of normally, but I'm not exactly a huge fan, and it involved a bit of travelling. If it was a band that I had a huge interest in, then I would go on my own without hesitation, but I've never followed Brant Bjork's solo projects until the last month or so.

I was talking with Suns of Thunder through Myspace and they were suppoused to find out how much it would cost to mail an album for me to USA. They never did

Phototropic 07-19-2006 07:48 AM

Yeah Brant wasn't that amazing, hes a cool cat an all but his music is lethargic

Suns of thunder kicked ***

ArrestThisMan

I'll try and speak to Greg about that for you, the albums pretty ace

ATM 07-19-2006 08:19 AM

Yea they said they would look into the price for shipping, etc

They were really experimental and out there, especially for their time (and especially for an aussie band). I wanna get one of the new shirts!

I thought Skepticism couldn't do any wrong. Then I heard the version of The March and the Stream from Lead & Aether...they butchered it!

deadmetalbassist 07-23-2006 08:22 PM

Does anyone know when any good stoner metal festivals are going to be? I found one in Cleveland, but it's already passed and I dunno if its an annual thing or not.

Morphia is such an awesome track.
The intro is so intense and after that it only gets better.
I have it in my cd player as night time music now

Apocalyptic Raids 07-25-2006 05:36 AM

I love The Blood Of The Eyes.

Jondur 07-25-2006 08:42 AM

Did a gig with Esoteric a bit ago. They made a lot more sense to me live than on record. Singer had a stupid "Madonna" headset mike though - looked very silly.

Neoteric 07-25-2006 10:09 AM

Kyuss are absolutely breath taking.

Wow, cool to hear.
Do you enjoy their music?

dfcslings 07-25-2006 11:42 AM

the2stranger 07-25-2006 11:46 AM

Esoteric is definitely one of my favorite "ultra slow death metal" bands. :p

Metamorphogenesis is the one I've given the most listens. The first song is hard to beat, when you're in the mood for that sort of thing.

NP: Witchfinder General - Love on Smack
np: Esoteric - Arcane Dissolution "Subconscious Dissolution Into The Continuum"

Yes! Over here! Subconscious... is awesome, such an angry record. Epistemological Despondency is cool too, the second song is very grindcore/death. I wish they'd bring back the trippy stuff in their newer work.

They sound like a fearsome live band, people have been known to just sit down on the ground and take it all in. And don't they have like 7 members on stage (2 keyboards, 3 guitars, drum 'n' bass)?

Jondur 07-26-2006 04:46 AM
Do you enjoy their music?
I wouldn't go that far!:p

You could appreciate the power of their sound but all in all I wounldn't say I enjoyed it. There was a death/doom band on that night as well called Indesinence. Check em out if you like that kind of thing. Nice guys.

Werny: as far as I remember there was only 6 members - lots of distorted vocals as well.

In another Esoteric-related trivia - Their old drummer used to also play in another doom band called Unsilence. He was then replaced in Unsilence by a certain Mr J. Ondur

Vegetaman 07-27-2006 09:25 PM

I demands that this thread turns up the Candlemass and that Messiah rejoins them... Immediately.

Daven 07-27-2006 09:28 PM

Can someone recommend an album that sounds like Candlemass's EDM, please.

Vegetaman 07-27-2006 09:58 PM

Ummm... Ancient Dreams and their self/titled.

pate 07-27-2006 10:21 PM

Solitude Aeturnus, maybe?

Poofy 666 07-27-2006 10:48 PM

New Isole comes out tomorrow
