that really depends on alot of things....battlestar scratchulactica (sp?) is a really good one to play with a drummer jamming. science riffs like a certain shade of green or vitamin are really good for getting pumped up, but need a guitar to sound good. and 11 am is a good one too |
Does anybody have 'Let me tell y'all about root beer'.
Can you even buy it anywhere or have they discontinued it....if i could get my hands on a copy i would be extremely chuffed. |
OHH YEH, cause i just hear about how talented they are in every forum and
music magazine.
they are a talented band no doubt about it. however Brendon Boyd cannot write to save his life. i'll give it to him though, hes an awesome singer and artist. "i dont see how people can word all theses things together, i'd kill to do it well. whenever im frustrated i just sing it out or rather sketch still life but i find it near impossible to put all my emotions in word" - Bredon Boyd. Cheers, Feign. |
Are you serious?
Brandon Boyd is an awesome writer. Granted alot of the earlier stuff was 100% artificial stimulants compositions, but as they progressed so did Brandon. You have to remember they were but a bunch of teenages when they wrote Fungus Amongus and SCIENCE. |

Especially the 'women's intuition' line. But really, 4 lines of writing doesn't exactly prove anything about his writing. Does anybody have "white fluffy clouds? It looks cool. It has some of his poems that weren't made into songs and some paintings and things. I think this is "I Stay" from the book. I live under a tree. I balance an apple on my head. A man with a rusty revolver and a twitching trigger finger stands at spitting distance. The man is high on gin, cigars and power. There are few like him. I was born with the apple on my head. The gun was a gift to him. He nods off occasionally: stumbling, twitching and squeezing off random bullets that graze all but the apple in the process. I've taken his bullets before: Hence fear & pain, but never finality. I am not tied to this tree. If I turn my head enough the apple falls. My assailant isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. I would barely be missed. I could leave at any time. Yet I stay. I think the books sold out a while ago but they just started reselling them. |

That guy has picked out a great line from a top song lyrically, way to prove your point!

Charles Mulholland? Yes he is. I like the pumpkin though, have I ever told you that Hat? It was like the first thing I noticed on MX. |
Was Brandon Boyd on a GAP commercial? I could have sworn I saw him in one the other day.

Yes, that was him. |
Was Brandon Boyd on a GAP commercial? I could have sworn I saw him in one the other day.
It's been said quite a few times actually. I thought most of the fans knew by now. |
Yeah its actually not a bad commerical, it could be a lot worse, its rather subtle.
|
I haven't seen it yet, what does he do in it?
|
I haven't seen it yet, what does he do in it?
He says what his favorite song is. |
I've seen two versions of it. In one it only show's him saying, "what's your favorite?" and in the other he says some load of scripted crap about how you favorite song is like your favorite pair of jeans and then shows a quick shot of him singing the song.
|
I think i may have seen it, but i hope to catch it again.

Yeah I couldn't remember that one so I just didn't put it. |
I have found that Incubus have obviously become more mellow over the years but it still sounds good. I only have three albums and i have noticed the difference in each of them. But just because they are becoming more mellow doesnt mean they don't still kick ***. They have a awesome drummer, guitarist, dj, singer and their new bass guitarist doesnt sound bad too. Overall. INCUBUS RULE!

Yeh he does comercials and other advertisements for GAP. |

The gonkulator is a ring mod. He uses it in Glass, Pistola (briefly), and I think Smile Lines (he uses a ring mod in Smile Lines though I'm not sure it is the Gonkulator). |
ok cool, i try to copy all his effects with my line 6 spider ll amp, i have only managed to get the verse to idiot box and wish you were here, thats all, i am way to slack to do any others at the moment

Have you seen the 'Alive at Red Rocks' DVD? If so, do you know what that thing is that he turns and it makes the guitar sound like water. He uses it in the "Pistola" and "Sick Sad Little World" solos. |

Phaser/Flanger, there's no telling with Mike. His rig includes 2 Boss PH-2 Phasers, an MXR Phase 90, and a Boss BF-2 Flanger; so it could be any one of those. I'm not sure which part of the songs you're talking about, otherwise I could most definetely tell you. I think you're talking about the MXR Phase 90 though. |
nah i haven't seen that DVD yet, i wanna get it so bad, i got there other DVD's and they are pretty cool

He uses it during the "Pistola" solo. He does a bend and twists the knob on that thing and it sounds like a ray gun. It's a big box looking thing. I have no idea what it is. It isn't a phaser or flanger. It's a box thing on a table. Any ideas? |
Just got this from the Incubus newsletter:
SURF'S UP FOR INCUBUS! Brandon and Mike's team won last Sunday's surfrider Celebrity surf jam in Huntington Beach, and Brandon was crowned MVP of the event. This week, Incubus' passion for surfing and music collide with the premiere of the new surfing documentary, Flow. Flow is a feature length documentary covering the life and history of legendary surfboard maker, Al Merrick and the Channel Islands Surf Team. For the film, Mike wrote the majority of the score while Brandon narrates the film. A number of Incubus songs pepper the flm as well. The band will attend the premiere tonight, September 19th, at the Arlington Theater in Santa Barbara, CA. INCUBUS BEGINS RECORDING NEW ALBUM! Incubus has re-entered the recording studio to begin writing and recording their fifth full-length album. Stay tuned to this space for all the details! |

It is amazing. I saw them on the Crow Left Of The Murder tour a year ago and the DVD performance was exactly the same. It was like watching the same concert, but from the stage. The production quality is superb. |
Awesome, new album coming out. Do you's reckon it will be even more mellow or will they bring back more of there metal/rock influence back into it. I am hoping for another S.C.I.E.N.C.E type album
