online store help...

I need a good online store were I can find good patches, mainly back patches...I'm starting my next project, a jean jacket, and I need a back patch, and a few other patches. the store I got my other stuff from doesn't have any thing good...I tried google and I didn't find much..

pedro durruti 02-17-2005 05:12 PM

http://www.angryyoungandpoor.com/ has a lot of patches and are decently priced, you just have to make sure it's under $20 and you only pay $2 shippinh, which isn't hard. DO NOT go to interpunk for patches, they charge friggin $8 for back patches and they kill you on shipping

And I'm pretty much doing the same thing, but I'm cutting off the sleeves for Summer/Spring. I think I'm only gonna get one patch, Bad Brains back patch, but they're out of stock on AYP so I might have to make one myself. Someone has probably posted about how to make patches but I don't feel like looking. I want it to be average back patch sized patch, I need to know what kinda fabric, and what to use to draw on the Capitol getting struck by lightning. After I get that sorted out I'm gonna write FEAR lyrics on the rest of the vest. And I know this isn't original (lots of people have denim vests) but I like the way it looks

For fabric try to find canvas, which is what patches use, or a real thick fabric. Just go around the fabric store and look about, testing thickness for one you like. Really think patches can be harder to sew, but may last longer. I made my patch out of semi-lightweight fabric that was also used to make a pair of lightweight pants.

acrylics really work for everything in my opinion, try that, and be sure to iron set it when your done

PoisonParadox 02-17-2005 11:02 PM

Thanks, you can draw pretty detailed stuff with that?

Erh. i just took lime green fabric and made a normal skirt. then i took the polka dot mesh and scrunched it? well, folded it over untill i got the affect i wanted then just took a sewing machince and put it togather.

Platinum_twf 02-19-2005 11:53 AM

ok, I have an old jean jacket, I like it, but it's old, and faded, it looks almost white, it's so faded, so my question is, is there any way I can get it back to a regular jean color? like dye it or something? or what kind of place will do that for me, would a dry cleaners/tailor be able to do it?

OiItsFatmatt 02-19-2005 12:19 PM

buy a new one

OI! to the World! 02-19-2005 12:21 PM

I just bought one for 99 c on ebay. Probably gonna make it into a vest and put A Global Threat back patch on it.

SantaDuJuan 02-19-2005 12:55 PM
buy a new one
123 and not the 99 c one of ebay.

It probly smells like sex.

Buy it from Wal Mart.

Seriously.

OI! to the World! 02-19-2005 01:21 PM

Couldn't find any at my Wal-Mart

AndreTheHyena 02-19-2005 01:26 PM

If you don't mind supporting them, places like the Gap have really nice jean jackets for moderately cheap, if you get 'em in the right season. I got one from Quiksilver for udner $20, and it's probably my favorite jacket ever.

And it's better than supporting Wal-Mart. Besides, Wal-Mart jackets are strangely expensive.
