I'm getting sick of this clone thing..........someone needs to do laundry

Sm|te 01-12-2005 08:41 PM

I'll say it and I know it's been said before, but Megadeth in almost every way is just a better, more talented band than Metallica. They always have been, even when Dave wrote Call of Ctulu. Think of all of the people who say, "Metallica is metal because they have METAL in their name, therefore making them the best band ever!".

Sad.

Huber 01-12-2005 08:55 PM

Who cares who's better. Either you like them or you don't.

I've never heard anyone say that.

Hahahaha! Well I once read The Chili guitarist has a hard time beating hardons when performing a solo, I think AB/CD just found a cure.

D@mn ! Only 41 pages??? Why don't you guys discuss anything normal about 'deth??

Each page someone is turning the whole thing into 'tallica vs 'deth thread. I'm fvcking sick of it ! Talk about music guys ! Otherwise this thread is useless !

:upset:

AB/CD 01-13-2005 03:17 PM

ok who likes behind the music i found it interesting even tho it more or less ocnstantly focuses on daves drug addiction

Josh 01-13-2005 04:06 PM

personally, even without having heard much megadeth, i think they are better than metallica, even though i like both. anyway enough of that...what megadeth album should i get as my first one?

Burdcheese 01-13-2005 04:21 PM

Get Rust In Peace

MAthiAS 01-13-2005 04:23 PM

Rust in Peace is their best, Peace Sells is also VERY good. Then if you like Peace Sells more, get Killing is my Business and So Far So Good So What. If you prefer Rust in Peace, get Countdown to Extinction and maybe Youthanasia if you're okay with it not being very thrash. In the end, just get them all.

Burdcheese 01-13-2005 04:25 PM
In the end, just get them all.
I would say youthanasia is my favorite album, but rust in peace is definitly the heaviest album by far.

MAthiAS 01-13-2005 04:30 PM

Does anyone have the original version of the cover (paradox ++) of These Boots? Megadeth does such a great job on it, but the stupid censoring ruins it.

Victory has one of my favorite solos ever, and A Tout Le Monde is an amazing song, and Reckoning Day was sick live. A very good album indeed, though probably one of my least favorite from Megadeth.

Facsimile 01-13-2005 05:55 PM

I do.

And I just bought Cryptic Writings. I'm shocked. I didn't think Megadeth could get worse than Youthanasia. If it wasn't for Trust, She-Wolf, and a couple of others I would probably only ever listen to it once or twice.
Now I'm really not looking forward to Risk, but I have to complete the collection!

Pandfair 01-13-2005 06:17 PM

Bought Peace Sells and So Far So Good So What a week ago from amazon (£5 each) they should be here soon. What else would you guys reccomend?

munky_magik 01-13-2005 06:19 PM

IMO Cyrptic writings is one of the best cd's Megadeth have put out. The level of wiriting and quality of songs on that cd are amazing.

Yea...that's good recommendation.

personally i'd throw down with most of their earlier work.

Lord Abortion 01-14-2005 06:49 AM

countdown to extinction is my favourite album they have done
Rust in peace second haven't heard cryptic writings or risk...

floyd.the.barber 01-14-2005 06:52 AM

is rust in peace good

Lord Abortion 01-14-2005 06:54 AM

yeah it rules holy wars and hangar 18 are better opening tracks than on most albums by anyone!

brooksy1986 01-14-2005 08:28 AM

Megadeth are too underated, they f***in ruled in there day. just a pity the new album (i personally think) sucks, why have loads of good metal bands released awful albums, Metallica, Korn(?),Slayer?

munky_magik 01-14-2005 08:30 AM

there's no accounting for taste

The Essential 01-14-2005 09:03 AM

AB/CD 01-14-2005 03:37 PM

I actually like Cryptic Writings. The entire album. Of course I can say it's not exactly thrash metal but its still a great album. Even Dave Mustaine said he liked the results of it even though it wasn't very thrashy.

AB/CD 01-14-2005 04:18 PM

cryptic writings he was aiming for pop kinda metal i think its 1 of their best albums especially since its got songs like almost honest ill get even she wolf and fff

btoto 01-14-2005 04:26 PM

Is SEVEN on Cryptic Writings???? I fvcking love that song. Especially the end

AB/CD 01-14-2005 04:28 PM

nah its on risk i think

btoto 01-14-2005 04:35 PM

Anyway it's a fantastic song. Well right now I'm learning Holy Wars.....Holy $hit ! How can Dave sing and play it in the same time???

AB/CD 01-14-2005 04:38 PM

take it your learning it on guitar then i tried to learn it on bass gave up after 2 mins just moved onto duke nukem and peace sells

Po0sH 01-14-2005 05:27 PM

A tout le monde is such an awesome song.
Dave Mustaine wrote a few songs from Kill Em All, and 2 from RTL. that's all.
Mustaine wrote all of the songs on kill em all. at least all of the solos. how do I know that? their early demos with mustaine have them performing all of the songs off kill em all.

btoto 01-14-2005 06:58 PM

^yeah but it doesn't mean that all solos = all songs !

Hit The Lights - Written in 1981 by James' other band. Lyrics written with Lars
Motorbreath - Written completely by James in 1981
Seek'n'Destroy - Written completely by James in 1982

Mechanix - Written completely by Dave
Jump In The Fire - completely by Dave

Phantom Lord - Partly by Dave
Metal Militia - Partly by Dave

Rest of the songs - By whole band together

Closed !
