Have you ever played one to know? The Platinum and the Platinum Pro series are some really solid guitars.
Yeh i have played them, i just dont get the right feel with B.C Rich guitars for some reason. |
Bump :D
Slipknot RULES! As a musician, slipknot raises the bar for not only metal but music. I mean, the time signatures and the feeling you get just from the percussion is overwhelming. I think, when you have more than 4 members in a band, and your all really talented musicians and realize to allow the precedence to jump around.... Well who can't just love the f**kin s**t out of it. Long Live Slipknot!! BTW, I think their first album was the best **** they ever made. So raw, so unedited. No ballads, just METAL! |
I would really like to see Slipknot on tour. I've been a fan for a while, and even though I'm partcial to their older material, I enjoy their new cd too. Hopefully I can get some money together to see them.

S/T had a couple of catchy songs on it, but for the most part, agreed :thumb: |
im seeing slipknot at the hordern pavillion on the 29th it will be mad
They say it will be the show of the century. Wish I was goin but i just came back from Sydney 2 day :upset: |
I do have to agree. Vol 3 done alot for mainstream metal, but that's what I can't stand. Seems like all the good bands, or at least the songs they make for mainstream are lacking. I mean... it's like the feeling is sucked out. I'm not saying their not good songs, or that their not composed correctly or any s**t like that. I just think they don't put what they 'feel' in it. Seems like some big wig producer steps in and hacks at their ****. Slipknot's first album is like so chaotic and blitzkrieg, and, to me, it seems like that's what they was wanting you think about them. They wanted you to associate Slipknot with mayhem. Now... it's like "who can bash their ****in brains out to circle or vermilion." NOT F**KIN ME! This is just my opinion...not trying to bash all the Vol 3 lovers.
The virus of life is a crazy instrumental kinda song, has some vocals though.
The Lyrics to that song are probably the best ever written by Slipknot. |
IDK but i wanna hear their very first cd but for now VOl 3 is the one i listen to the most and Iowa is the one i like the least (no offence to ne one that would like Iowa).
But is there ne one that really liked it cause i just liked 5 of the songs on that cd? |

Yeh i agree, i didnt like that song to much at first when i got the album. But after listening to the album i started to really enjoy it. I always thought the lyrics for Gently were good. |
Iowa is the big middle finger
If you like self titled you should like Iowa imo. |
s/t is really energetic and raw, iowa is a darker album but alot like s/t is some songs, and vol.3 is kinda of the more advanced album i guess, with better lyrics, guitar solos, ect.

Anders wrote Gently. It might not be that they're good lyrics, just differen't because Corey didn't write it. Same goes for Scissors. Joey wrote scissors and I can kinda tell it wasn't Corey. |

Slipknot the show of the century????!@!!!??! LMAO, if you want nu-metal that is good live, go see Linkin Park or Korn live, not Slipknot, they're terrible live. And no band can put on a show like In Flames, and they'll never be close to playing "the show of the century". |
Maybe not show of the century, but they defenitely put on a better live show than Linkin Park.

Slipknot is by far better live than Korn. |

Scissors is such a great song, when they released welcome to our neighborhood on dvd. They put a live video of slipknot doing scissors in concert. |

That "big wig producer" that stepped in only lend them a studio and made weekly visits to check on their progress.I can assure you that Vol.3 was 100% Slipknot.Rick would give a suggestion, and let Slipknot run with it.Unlike Ross Robinson, who was in the studio with them the whole time "hacking at their shit".Mick had a long guitar solo on (sic) that we will never hear because of Ross.As well as some added technicallity in the songs that was cut out by him also. It might depending on how much you've actually listened to Vol.3?The first time I listened to it, I thought it sounded unfocused, lackluster, and just thought it was pure rubbish. The more I listened to it the more I saw the big picture.I notice things in it now that I didnt catch before. The emotion for instance. Its like the dynamic of it is hidden subliminally. The only way to unlock it is by giving it repeated listens. One thing that I noticed recently is how well the music is in harmony with Corey's vocals.Vermilion is a good example of this.Listen to how well Corey's vocals feed off the guitar. Its almost like he's controlling the little changes with his words.I dont know, I was high when I noticed it. |
Slipknot is by far better live than Korn.
Which could be why Korn ducked out of a tour with them in 2000.Or so I heard. |

is slipknot good i really always hated them b/c or their image but maybe u guys can change my mind why is slipknot good?

no offense to all you slipknot fans out there, i do like iowa and s/t but they have too many members in their band. i mean 3 percussionists? thats killin me. joey is a very good drummer, but the other two guys, they can stop playin and you wouldnt even notice, they ride they same thing they hit. thats not much talent. i like the scrather and the guitarists along w/ joey(very good drummer). its just to me, too many members. maybe their nice guys and let all their friend into the band because they felt sorry for them.

The reason behind all the drummers is because the idea behind Slipknot was to have a heavy band with a tribal kind of sound. THey accomplished it. Once you notice it, they sound pretty tribal because of all the drums. |

What is the point of coming in a SlipknoT thread if you hate them so much anyway ? Oh well, i read about the favorite 20 songs, and i dont feel like putting 20, so ill put 7 : 1. Pulse of the MaggoTs 2. Everything Ends 3. Left Behind 4. People = sh!t 5. Surfacing 6. I am hated 7. The blister exists |
and you know this how....?
it's just a dumb comment, the way it's phrased is basically LP is too mainstream thoughtless flaming.... especially since Linkin Park is known to be amazing live./ |
I guess some people just cannot hear music. Slipknot has a very percussive sound. While Joey lays down the beat and crashes the cymbols, etc., the other two precussionists add a very rythmic, lock-step percussive sound, and that's why they're there. On some songs they might not necessarily need that, but it sounds really good when they do.l

I haven't done this yet, and I'm really bored so here goes.

i'm sort of pissed off that although slipknot is doing the big day out in melb in a few days time, their side concert is 18+ i can't go to either of them.
wait and bleed and my plague are 2 of my fave songs by slipknot. |
How many guitarists does slipknot have? 2 or 3? Also which one of them is better. I know Mick with that warlock, and that other guy with ibanez I think. Also which one does the solos and which one does riffs, etc.

they have 2 guitarists. Mick used to play a warlock, but plays ibanez now, and the other is jim. both play guitar solos and kinda take turns on lead. mick does most guitar solos and faster parts so i guess you can call him lead. |
