yeah i'll download those when i get home, thanks

I'm trying to get into metalcore, so far my fav is Botch. I also checked out DEP, Converge and Fall of Troy. So I need bands with good poly-rhythmic riffs, melodic bits and slow bits(More Mathcore than Metalcore maybe?). I don't really like screaming vocals so, no screams would be better. Thanks.

thomasj12e34 09-06-2009 01:31 PM

check out century and coalesce

Angmar 09-06-2009 05:14 PM

Acoustic music WITH good acoustic guitar? :/

sweeptehsweepz 09-06-2009 05:23 PM

guys looking for music similar to *readies flameshield* the soft vocals in Attack Attack's stick stickly...yes I know they're not musically talented but they're a fun catchy band..and thats it, I needed some fun catchy music for my gym workout and I've been listening to attack attack lately, any other bands with similar vocals, not necessarily metal/synth/crabcore

Txus 09-06-2009 05:55 PM

Anyway, check out Vali, Tenhi, Ulver's Kveldssanger, In Gowan Ring, Nick Drake

Recommend me either some BM that doesn't suck or some old school DM that again doesn't suck.

I'm a fan of Gorgoroth, Dissection, Satyricon and as far as DM just one thing NO DEICIDE!! i freaking hate them

nevertoolate 09-08-2009 06:42 PM

Dismember
Dead Congregation

Deicide's first two albums are classics wtf

Morbid Angel
Carcass
Immolation
Incantation

etcetc

Nepenthe 09-08-2009 07:28 PM

basically find a good horror story, point to a random word in it, and then type that word followed by 'download' into google blog search

Moon Flavor 09-08-2009 09:34 PM

Sean I recommend Cryptopsy's Blasphemy Made Flesh (not really typical old school...) or some Immolation as I hate old school and even I love them

terry_b_wanna_b 09-09-2009 11:08 AM

what would you recommend to someone who likes dillinger escape plan (especially, not not exclusively with dimitri), agoraphobic nosebleed, converge, cannibal corpse, mastadon, cephalic carnage, meshuggah, and pig destroyer?

p.s. also goatwhore and soilent green if you have ever heard of them, they are local bands

Tyler 09-09-2009 11:10 AM

Curl Up and Die, Glass Casket, The End (1st album for the spazzier stuff, 3rd for the melodic stuff, you can skip Within Dividia if you want), The Red Chord (Same, go with their first and third albums).

Ventriloquist 09-09-2009 11:11 AM

Botch - We are the Romans
Genghis Tron - Board up the House
Cutting Pink With Knives - Oh Wow!

for classic DM:
Autopsy - Mental Funeral (get this one before anything else)
first two Morbid Angel albums
Carcass - Severed Survival
Obituary - Slowly We Rot
Entombed - Left Hand Path
Pestilence - Consuming Impulse
Terrorizer - World Downfall (kinda grind)

RetiredAt21 09-09-2009 04:53 PM

Mental Funeral \m/

illmitch 09-09-2009 04:54 PM

RetiredAt21 09-09-2009 04:56 PM

TO THE SWEET SMELL OF DECAY
LYING IN THE COFFIN

Deth 09-09-2009 06:29 PM

DM:
Autopsy
Depravity
Cartilage
Carnifex (the Finnish one)
Coffins
Cannibal Corpse
Injustice
Entombed
Altar
Darkthrone (first album is oldschool DM)

BM:
Sargeist
Endstille
old Blut Aus Nord
Dawn

More melodic than your general wall of noise bm, you might like this guys.

Deth 09-09-2009 07:14 PM

probably best for him to stick to the more melodic bm anyway given the stuff he listed
