Through the Eyes Of The Dead =/= deathcore in the slightest.

They sound almost exactly like the ****ing Black Dahlia Murder but they have breakdowns a brutal parts.
Their melodic parts don't really sound like TBDM much...and their earlier stuff had way, way better drumming and vocals than TBDM could dream of and a hell of alot more variety/better songwriting.

and wtf@leaving out Truest Shade of Crimson mappy

i am the robots 02-03-2008 04:51 PM

a lot of the melodic parts on bloodlust and malice are tbdm styled

the stuff rich wrote was different though

like seriously, just listen to two inches from a main artery

Squirrel 02-03-2008 04:52 PM

he knows ive heard that one

I only listened to Bloodlust once so I don't really remember. Most of it is really bland.

Ashes 02-03-2008 04:53 PM

I finally just checked out the new AILD...not sure what to think. There's a bit too much uninteresting filler tunage on it, but I like the improved guitarwork.

i am the robots 02-03-2008 04:54 PM

metalcore thread kthx

bringer of truth, the black death and its aftermath, the decaying process, and with eyes ever turned inward kill it
it's really sad that 2 of the highlights are re-recordings of old songs

Frail Words Collapse had a lot of DM moments in it. But whatever, it's stupid to argue about it.

masscows 02-03-2008 04:57 PM

i am the robots 02-03-2008 04:57 PM

Beneath Dying Skies is soo ****ing epic

The breakdown on that is too good

Also am kinda in 2 minds whether or not I would class Eternal Lord as deathcore or metalcore. Regardless stuff I'm hearing off there new album out in march sounds really good.

i am the robots 02-03-2008 05:00 PM

which one?

Dimmu Burger 02-03-2008 05:01 PM

Welcome back.

Ashes 02-03-2008 05:02 PM

Thanks. I won't be around as much as usual, I've got a lot going on. This weekend is pretty much twice the postage you'll normally see from me.

You know, the drumming really does have a lot of death metal stuff in it. Not that we can call them death-anything but you can't really argue that about the drumming.

2muchket! 02-03-2008 05:09 PM

The first breakdown mappy right before the lyrics ' hate and cries lie in a life that's deceased awakened by horror and screaming of dying souls'

i am the robots 02-03-2008 05:13 PM

yeah, that part rules

i like the one right after LIVING BENEATH DYING SKIES

its just really slam-y i guess, but in a good way

Squirrel 02-03-2008 05:17 PM

i am listening to that song now

i am the robots 02-03-2008 05:18 PM

its so generic but so well done

Squirrel 02-03-2008 05:21 PM

im liking it a lot, their old stuff seems to have this vibe/tone/atmosphere that the new stuff doesnt have

the new stuff is brutal and in your face

the old stuff has the kinda of sickness/madness thing going on, feels like music thatd go on inside your head if you were in a zombie film

i am the robots 02-03-2008 05:22 PM

EXACTLY

and its because its by kids who are obsessed with zombie films

fgovs got that same atmosphere

masscows 02-03-2008 05:23 PM

So BRA, your fellow Arizonan just butchered the national anthem.
