The Predator is the best of the early Ice Cubes, I think.
Everyone likes The Predator because it has "It Was a Good Day" and "Check Yoself" but overall it's not as strong as AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted or Death Certificate. |
anybody know when the new Immortal Technique cd 'The Middle Passage' is comin out? it seems like i've been waiting forever.
|
I'm in love with Murs right now. Anyone know mc's with the same style as him?
I'm in love with Murs right now. Anyone know mc's with the same style as him?
yeah murs is good, you may want to check out the crew he is apart of "Living Legends" and then pick the people out of that crew, each member should have some solo work as well |
Yep, the Living Legends stuff is worth checking out. Just dig around some other west coast underground rappers, especially guys from SoCal. Maybe try some of Aceyalone's stuff if you haven't already. Latest isn't his greatest, but it's good. Planet Asia has a nice flow, too, although he's also got weak production on some of his stuff. Ooh, and the Pharcyde. Fatlip's solo album, it's called The Loneliest Punk might be worth a listen. It's decent but you might wanna look into his work with the Pharcyde first, Bizarre Ride II in particular. Maybe early Alkoholiks, too. I'll stop there.

hey robert have you heard planet asia's latest album i guess it's presented through/via the siccness.net if so, is that any good at all? i'm curious |
From the few songs I've heard, I still have beef with whoever does his production. I don't know why, it's really not bad. It's probably worth a listen, although admittedly I haven't even gotten around to listening to the whole thing. He came to my Uni, actually, was pretty good live.

ahh ok...yeah i've got "the grand opening" and it was like ehhh, like you've mentioned the flow is fine it's just the beats/production is nothing original in fact some of the beats from "the grand opening" were a bit "mainstreamish" not saying that it was bad, but to me it just didn't fit right i don't even listen to that cd at all, which i guess says something right there, the cali agents he was part of with rasco was ok, but still i don't know...too many inconsistencies |

I asked that only 1 page before, noone seems to know and his site hasn't been updated in months. |

Yep, that's the way I feel about most of his solo stuff, too even though I still like him as an MC. He was touring with Rasco, should be cool if they finally get together and put out a new album. |

Aceyalone is good. Haven't heard much by him, but what I heard I like. Anyone like Mos Def? My friend got me into him, he's pretty cool. |
Mos Def is one of those rappers I should probably pay more attention too.
Haha apparently Bun B is playing a show near me soon. |

Dipset is overrated but still entertaining. I stick to NWA and Big Pun for my fill of gangsta. Does anyone else here thinkt hat Akir is better than Immortal Technique? |
Does anyone else here think that Akir is better than Immortal Technique?
don't believe i've heard of akir got anything on him? i'd like to see the differences/similarities you speak of |
They're both really diferent, Immortal Technique has a way harder edge to his music, but Akir is real good. I have it on Soulseek, message me if you want: Flagjacket.
