Yeah, what's wrong with my list mate. |
Yeah, what's wrong with my list mate.
No, no that's not what I meant at all. sorry, that didn't come across how I wanted. It was basically a "don't make me try to narrow it down to ten" kind of thing. Although, I eventually did manage to do it. |
And, dammit, I knew I'd leave something off. Ruiner! That's my favorite song from TDS, how could I forget it?
|
Oh thats good then. First I thought you were being an arrogant prick then I thought I should've inlcuded the song 'Please' in there. I got confused. Haha. Everything is good between NIN fans once again.

Yeah, sorry about that, I can see how much of an asshole I must have seemed like. Ha, as if it would be anyone's place to condemn someone else's list! |
I'm starting to get into NIN a lot more lately listening to Pretty Hate Machine and With Teeth. TDS for somer eason is hard to find around here, but I plan on going out again this weekend and finding a copy.
|
I definately recommend doing that. You can always get it from Amazon for relatively cheap if all else fails. If you've never heard TDS, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by it, even if you don't like it so much on the first listen. It grows on you, trust me. It's brilliant on so many levels.
|
Every song on TDS completely blows me away. I saw it for $15 which is cheap in NZ, and I had $12 :upset: ... It's always in the back of my head, when I see it for the normal price of $34 .It's more than 10 years old!

Shhhh! Don't let the Amazon secret leak! I don't have a usable credit card at the moment though, that's like the whole root of the problem. Making me get out of the computer chair and going to the music store...stupid plastic... |

I'll be at the music store tommorow as well, looking for some stupid plastic (hopefully Team Sleep and Porcupine Tree) |
i've only heard the hand that feeds
|
Well, you haven't heard much in that case.
|
i've only heard the hand that feeds
Theres so much more to hear... And if you liked that, chances are you'd liek the new CD, With Teeth (duh). Go out and buy it :thumb: |
Nine Inch Nails performing at the MTV movie awards! I usually don't like watching the movie awards but this time there's a good reason to do so. I just saw that extended interview they have on the site as well. He talks about the failed projects with MJK and Zack from RATM...It's interesting.

I've always wanted to know more about the thing he did with Zack De La Rocha. They were in a studio right around the time that Johnny Cash died, but nothing ever came out of it. |

Yeah, I found it by the time you responded :p
For some reason I can't play any videos on that site, I install the plug in. It still won't work though. Its been that way for awhile. Sooo what were the highlights of the video? |
Yeah, I just read that article "The Upward Spiral". Very interesting stuff. Not only do I see a lot of the lyrical connections to With Teeth (which in turn makes me appreciate the writing a lot more), but I definitely did not know that he OD'd on heroin. I find it hard to believe that he finds himself disappointed with The Fragile. It was easily my favorite of his records.

I couldn't get it to work on mine either so I had to open it with Explorere (which I hate). Anyway, if you can't get the video, there's an interview posted on the site which pretty much sums it up... |
I like "with teeth" ALOT.
Trent is much more mature now and more unrestricted. "Right where it belongs" is magnificent imo, obviously not NIN style but so what, there really are no rules that says is has to sound like anything before it. He is clean and sober now after years of partying, and I really like this album. Heroin and drugs almost killed him, and he hints at love for the first time ever. ( basicially he says, "Ill hide it behind something you would never look behind") imo it refers to his heart and love. Times change, attitudes change, and I like the direction of Trent/NIN. |

Yeah I am actually :p Thanks. |
"Along with the 13 tracks on With Teeth, the sessions yielded at least seven more songs Reznor hopes to eventually release. And since wrapping the album, he's already been writing the next one. "I haven't interrupted the writing process this time, and I feel energized," he says. "
 I wonder if he is thinking of releasing those seven songs before the next album or as part of the next album... *thinks about the mysterious lyrics on the "With Teeth" page and the mysterious "master plan" he keeps mentioning*.... Hmm... :amaze: ...and well, at the bottom of the "With Teeth" page it says..."check this page for more content in the coming days"...Heh, I'm just curious to know whats going on (if anything). |
Well, if anyone finds anything out, tell us!
:thumb: |
Perhaps there's no master plan, and he's scrambling to find something to do quick.
|
Probably...
I really hope its new songs... That'd be cool. |
Trent is at a point in his carreer hwere he could literally get away with murder. Perhaps he released With Teeth as a bait album--somethign to hold us off and keep us interested for the time being until the real release was to come about. Now, with so much new material dangling in front of us, we drool for more and we never lose interest in his NIN project.
To cover for this, he booked a huge US tour in small venues, not to, as he claims, gauge the popularity of NIN (which would take a very thick skull not to realize that NIN still has a massive loyal fanbase), but to take the attention away from the fact that no matter what he releases, it'll be treated as god's gift to music by his fans. Meanwhile, he plans to execute his "master plan," but managed to buy himself some more time in cleverly sinister plan. |
Genius!
Kinda confusing though.. haha |
^^ Yeah, it is kinda confusing...I had to read that post twice to understand what he was saying. It all makes sense now though.
