**** guitarering dave lombardo and paul bostaph are ftw
Would you mind translating that please? |
"Fuck guitaring, Dave Lombardo and Paul Bostaph are for the win"
as in, the guitars don't matter but Lombardo and Bostaph are God-like in the music Slayer has made |
paul is not that bad i like dave alot more. but like man kerry and jeff are amazing i wouldnt say there the best but to say dave and paul are god like in the music slayer has made is kinda BS because kerry and jeff are amazing i man there solos in dead skin mask are god like if anything. but yeah there drumming is amazing.
|
****. I read an interview with Jeff. He said that Jaegermeister might start having Slayer headline every fall tour since they've headlined the fall tour twice. Every year the JaegerMusic Tour has come to my home town, so when I read that I was stoked, cuz man, I could be seeing Slayer every year. I was dissapointed to see that Slayer isn't going to be headlining the Fall tour, and Disturbed is. :-\ I'd be in Slaytanic Heaven if they started permenantly headling the Fall Tour.
EDIT-Boy, I sure do feel stupid, I said basically said the same thing a page ago. :upset: |
aaahhh man that sux im so sick of disturbed. but at least the tour goes to your home town man it never comes to montreal.
I've spent about a week learning The Anti-Christ. I still can't play the first solo, but I got the second slower melodic solo down. I'm thinking about going back and trying to learn to play At Dawn They Sleep.
Surprisingly I learned Raining Blood and Postmortem pretty quickly. I still have not learned how to do kerry's final solo in Raining Blood. I've also been trying to figure out the intro solo to the remix of Criminally Insane to no avail. Kinda on the side, I learned how to play Killing Fields. The lyrics to that song are f**king awesome to scream while you're playing the riffs. :thumb: |
I still have not learned how to do kerry's final solo in Raining Blood.
Dude you don't 'learn' the end solos for Raining Blood. Just fuck around on the whammy bar. |
haha i know i was thinking the same thing to  i was like u can play postmortem and raining blood but u can hit a bunch of strings while hitting the whammy bar

That's all I do. Kerry doesn't even call it a solo he calls it "noise". |

That's true, but what about the intro solo to the remix of Criminally Insane? Every tab site I look up doesn't have it. It is the most awesome solo I've ever heard, even better than Eruption. |

down load guitar pro or buy it is really good then go to www.mysongbook.com well u can download a free 30 day trial there its really good. helped me out alot. |

I don't use my whammy bar. I don't have a clamp for my guitar so my strings go wayyyyy the fuck out of tune. :) I know it's kinda sad for a person who's been playing for 3 years, but I only own an Ibanez GRX20. It's basically in the same catagory as a bronze warlock. (NICE, HUH?) I want to save up for a nice esp f series. Maybe then I can practice with a whammy more. |

Hey nontie69, I already have the trial version of guitarpro but none of the versions have the solo I'm talking about. Ya know when the original criminally insane came out, how after the intro Tom would just scream the chorus? On the expanded version of Reign in Blood they add Aggressive Perfector and a Remix of Criminally Insane that replaces tom screaming the chorus at the beginning with the most wicked and awesome solo that I've ever heard. That's the solo I've been wanting to learn.
The remix is also on the Soundtrack to the Apocalypse box set. (Which I own.) |
Hey guys, I just got a crazy thought? Maybe we can ask sonorken if he can make this thread official? Maybe that'll attract more Slayer fans. Whaddya think?

That has been brought up before. I don't think they'll make it an official thread though because people aren't constanlty making threads about Slayer. It's big enough though to just become one, and it might cut down on future Slayer threads. Question for you, since you have the Soundtrack to the Apocalypse.. could you upload me Ice Titan? I would be your best e-friend on here. |

I mean, Reign in Blood slayer was awsome too, but i like the real old school thrash sound of Show no Mercy. btw, metal storm/face the slayer is ace |
Hell Awaits (Their best album) came after Show No Mercy.
|
thanks, that'll probably be my next slayer purcahse, that is, if i get to it. I'll probably be too busy blowing money on some Black or power metal...

I agree that Hell Awaits is their best album. It contains the best aspects of Reign In Blood and Show No Mercy rolled into one.
The only downside is the average production. |

I've seen the Tom Arraya ESP bass and was wishing they made a guitar bassed (hahaha get it bassed :upset: ) off of it. I want to buy Hell Awaits and Show No Mercy. I've only heard the most famous songs off of them but I want to get into the other songs on them. I once had the opportunity to buy the Haunting The Chapel Cd but I saw it only had 5 songs on it, yet it was the same price as Reign in Blood so I got that instead. (It was a good call 'cuz my favorite song ended up being Jesus Saves.) |

True but it also had some custom and very sick pentagram inlays. The rounded edges are also cool. It look like a nice bass to riff on. |

YES MAN THIS BASS IS SO AMAZING. IVE GOTTEN TO MANY COMPLIMENTS ABOUT MINE :thumb: . JUST DONT GET IT IF YOUR PLAYING JAZZ AND OR OTHER THINGS I THINK THIS BASS IS MADE JUST FOR METAL. |
I wouldn't mind getting Jeff's signature guitar. But I don't have the dough.
