ya i'm liking Illmatic, sadly only rap cd i own. pere ubu was a bit of a let down though

Tangy zizzle 11-14-2004 04:29 PM

You should try the compilation Terminal Tower.

Sonic_Reducer 11-14-2004 11:51 PM

ya, how is it different from Modern Dance? i guess i just don't like the mood on that record for some reason, it's good but i don't really like it as much as i thought i would. it was worth 7 bucks though

Bartender 11-14-2004 11:52 PM

Just bought myself Cocteau Twins - Heaven or Las Vegas yesterday. That's all.

Sorry for interrupting.

Sonic_Reducer 11-14-2004 11:54 PM

how are the cocateau twins? i've been meaning to check them out

Bartender 11-15-2004 12:12 AM

Well I've only had time to listen to it twice since I got it, but so far, it's good. A little patchy maybe, but then maybe it'll grow on me. Liz Fraser's voice is the reason I decided to buy something by them, and her voice is just amazing throughout.

Tomahawk 11-15-2004 12:14 AM

Cocteau Twins are awesome. I don't have Heaven or Las Vegas, but I've heard the title track and it's great.

Sonic_Reducer 11-15-2004 09:57 AM

ok, well i may buy an album if i have time, and theres already too many i need to buy (only loser without OK Computer in this forum) but if i see something for cheap i'll get it, thanks for the info.

Your avatar makes up for it.

Bartender 11-15-2004 10:13 AM

If it's any consolation, I also don't have OK Computer. But then that's only because I don't like Radiohead enough.

i'd have understood if it was Kid A, but OK Computer is a really good one, still accessible enough for a simple indie kid like me. i'd give it a whirl, what's the worst than can happen?

Bartender 11-15-2004 11:00 AM

Well if I see for anything less than premium price, yeah, I'll buy it. So far I only like one Radiohead song though (and that's from a different album), which wouldn't really justify paying full price.

I lost it already, heh, I think it's in my car, but yeah it's great :) I don't particuarly like his voice, but the music's excellent, Green Machine owns. I found it for $10 which makes it better, and the hot girl who served me loved em

Coroner kicks the anus

asymm 11-16-2004 08:36 PM

just ordered a few...

Olivia Tremor Control - "Dusk at the Cubist Castle" (All of Well_Respected_Man's boastings put me over the edge :) )
Iran - "Moon Boys"
Ghost - "Hypnotic Underworld"
Cyann & Ben - "Spring"

guitarbaz 11-17-2004 05:17 AM

got a couple more yesterday

graham coxon - happiness in magazines
kasabian

the coxon one i'm liking from the first listen, it's as good as blur should have been in the latter years, i'm guessing albarn's influence dragged them down as this solo one from coxon is superb.

the kasabian is going to take a bit more listening to however...

The Ashtray Girl 11-17-2004 05:44 AM

^I love both of those albums. Going to see the coxmeister week after next - w00t!
