whoops, didn't see the post above mine

gaslight 06-09-2005 12:36 PM

Is that like Freddy Quimby's accent on the Simpsons?

Or his nephew, "Say it Frenchy, say chowdah!"

kilian 06-09-2005 12:36 PM

DO they ever change then? I guess they would like it better when WE would accept their system. Or they would say: EVERYONE WHO DOESN'T USE OUR SYSTEM IS A TERRORIST.

Boston is above New York City, man...it's in Massachusetts.

Boston accents don't put r's in...we pronounce "r's" in words like "real" and "Ryan," but instead of saying "car," we say, "cah."

"Pahk the cah in Hahvahd Yahd." :p

We also say wicked in place of very..."That's wicked cool...that's wicked good," etc.

We also have lots of random colloquialisms, i.e., a frappe is a milkshake, a packie is a liquour store, a bubbler (pronounced "bubblah") is a water fountain, etc.

told you my geography was bad
sounds like an aussie accent

bottlerocket 06-09-2005 12:56 PM
boston is north of new york. The two cities have similar accents
Don't say that in either Boston or New York...we'll punch you.

 Oh George Bush...how we hate him here.

Please don't ask how he got re-elected...no one outside of the US really knows how our political system works. :thumb:

Hell, most of the people in the US don't know how our political system works...

Aside from the Electoral College giving him the win because he appealed to the Republican-flowing swing states (specifically Ohio), there was some serious corruption/bargaining.

Trust me, let me make this loud and clear: THE EXTREME MAJORITY OF AMERICANS HATE GEORGE WALKER BUSH AND THINK HE IS A THREAT TO WORLD PEACE!

Wuah! I just figured I could have a great weekend ahead of me. I meet with a friend tomorrow in Cologne to go to a club. She studies in Cologne and we check out an alternative club that sound interesting.

Friday night/Saturday morning I head back to my town, to attend rehersal of my band. Then, Saturday evening after rehersal, I will (looks like that right now) again head to Cologne to go out with her and her friends from University.
Am I glad I have a ticket for the train so I do not have to pay for that. Otherwise that could get expensive... :)

And, on a side not, I'm pierced now. I went to the piercer yesterday afternoon, and got my lip pierced. Don't ask for pictures though, there are not yet any. :)

Actually I'm quite a pacifist. I'm a border line hippie: I go to rallys to protect the environment, I wrote a formal letter to the mayor protesting his taking down of a loca park to put up a new building for governmental inspection, and I absolutely refuse to litter.

The joke here is that the British, in particular, are ghastly looking, women specifically, and that the British have extremely poor dental hygene. Just a generalization, though. We know it's not true.

Just like you generalize us and think we all blindly follow Bush like he's The Fuhrer of the 43rd Reich of America.

correction: the extreme majority of people in boston hate bush. All the central states somehow combine to win.

bottlerocket 06-09-2005 01:14 PM

^ From what I hear, people in the central states hate him...it seems only Texas and Florida like him...oddly enough, he was the governor of Texas and his brother Jeb is the governor of Florida...:amaze:

one time on holiday in the bahamas 2 years ago - 2 canadian guys about 30 odd started giving me whisky lol

SWR410 06-09-2005 01:34 PM

canadians tend to be very loose with drugs. they have marijuana parafinilia stores all over the place with hilarious window displays. my 14 year old cousin has been served alcohol in a major resturaunt. they don't care.

gotta love canada :D

yeah, the really ghastly looking euros from our point of view are germans and anyone east of there. I've been to a german swimming pool and the women weren't very attractive in general.
