Haha Judas Priest are so funny

To be honest i'm not into much metal.

Damrod 06-08-2005 10:20 AM
I like your band Damrod, nice sound. The intro to Just Try was real cool.
Yeah, it's really sweet. Those tracks were recorded in a local studio last year. When I got the CD to listen and learn the songs, I was very suprised by the good quality. But it costed also quite a buck. I don't know how much exactly though, as that was before my time with the band

how do you mean funny
they were awesome
apart from a certain bass player *cough ianhill cough*
and the scorpions who supported :upset: oh dear oh dear

neal_672 06-08-2005 10:23 AM

Scorpions were better with Michael Schenker on guitar, his own group are way better. But they're not that bad.

But judas Priest they're ok but they're basically everything i dislike about metal they're just silly, all blood and guts lyrics, silly look etc

they had michael schenker back i think
or a lookalikie lol
theyre not silly
and that look is unique, not silly

neal_672 06-08-2005 10:28 AM

Really? I thought he was touring with his own group still. Sure it wasn't Rudi Schenker? 'Cos he's always fronted them.

"Unique" - read "every metal band ever"

no im talking about the guitarist
the singer was some short fat bloke who sang off key

neal_672 06-08-2005 10:32 AM

Hmmmm sounds like they've changed their lineup...

OMG FFTL MAKES ME WANT TO KILL MYSELF

I haven't really heard anything from Halifax, and I don't care much for He Is Legend.

Have fun! :thumb:

bottlerocket 06-08-2005 12:44 PM

^ Yeah, the music's kinda generic, their screamer sucks, their lead singer's voice is so **** annoying, but the back up vocalist has a pretty cool voice...

They're "dec" in my book. :D

Halifax is pretty generic but I like them...and I absolutely love He is Legend.

Check out "The Seduction" and "I Am Hollywood."

I just Start to Love that P bass more, and more and more, just get the new bridge (BAII) mounted and maby some new tuners to it and ill be in heaven...

(i think its on thoose two parts Fender japan Have Saved alot to be able to sell the bass that cheap... I was planning hipshots w D tuner for my geddyanyway, so ill just order an regular pair for the P)

bottlerocket 06-08-2005 12:53 PM

^ I know that a MIM Fender is like the bottom bunk (but still pretty good), and I know that MIA is the best, but what makes them all differ, especially MIJ?

I know MIA has neck through strings and different pickups...I think the wood might be different. I'm pretty sure MIM basses are either poplar or basswood, but what about MIA and MIJ?

Eddie, if you could explain the differences, especially about MIJ basses, I would love you forever. :D

Awesome.

I plan on going to a lot of awesome shows this summer (I plan on playing some, as well), and I might be going on not one, but two road trips this summer down to California.

And I've heard HIL before, but it just didn't really interest me in my book.

As far as FFTL goes, I like some of their music, but the vocals and lyrics kill everything for me. Then there's the video for "Ride The Wings of Pestilence" and that just killed any credibility I ever gave the band, which was very little to begin with. Plus, the lead singer looks like a super ugly girl. He's like the epitome of one of the super scenesters or something. haha. What's even worse is that my ex-lead singer is like...friends with him or something. They met when he was passing through Oregon, and they ended up hanging out a lot while they were here. WEIRD. I can't exactly say how true that is, but everything seems to match up. I also have a recording of her and him doing a cover of Saosin's "Seven Years" acoustically. I saw some live videos of the them, too, and I thought they were even worse live. I, basically, despise the band. :)

EDIT: By the way, I still respect them even if I do think they are absolutely atrocious. :p

bottlerocket 06-08-2005 12:54 PM

^ I've seen the video...it's so horrible.

And yes, 90% of their lyrics are absolute rubbish.

Saosin is awesome, though, now that you mention it. Check out both the acoustic and original versions of Seven Years. They're incredible. :thumb:

I have. That recording of them was what made me first listen to Saosin (I wanted to hear the original), and I didn't think that it was that bad. I, actually, kind of enjoyed it. I think the acoustic version and the original have their ups and downs, but I like them both. I used to like the acoustic version more, but the original grew on me some time ago, and I like it just as much.

EDIT: This was a year ago that this all happened. Well, with the listening of Saosin.

Well, i can say that my CIJ Fender 70's Precision reissue, is Made Out Of Ash body and a one piece Maple Neck, the bass is pretty much like they made it in the 70's, and with out all that Extra Crap that Fender Have Placed on them now(string through body, S1 Switch, the P bass necks is alot thinner than what they orignal where, though mine is Slightly narrower than the americans, but thats just by 1 mm), it use Fender USA custom Shop 62 reissue Pups, wich make it, Imo Sound Better than the American, the neck is straight and feels great(a Good handful) the Body looks Gorgous in the Natural finish.. My Bass belongs to the Kanda series though, something Wich i have understanded that every bass in that serie is limited runs..

To Be honest, when i get the New pridge on it and New Tuners, it will IMO blow an american Fender out of the water, Fender Japan Make them the original way, to the original price. :) Maby More Explenation and such when i get pictures and make a thread about it ;)

bottlerocket 06-08-2005 01:23 PM

^ CIJ?

By the way, I've played one Marcus Miller bass twice in my life (that is, the same bass on two different occasions) and I found the bass to feel clunky. I plan on trying another one out...aren't the MM basses supposed to feel like all other Jazz Basses except slightly different? :amaze:

Think it was a lemon? I hear lots of people on here talking about how sweet and smooth the MM Jazz is and I found the one I used to be very boxy and unweildy.

I plan on playing another, though, because I really love the tone. If the feel was better, I would've sold my MIM J, saved up a few more hundred bucks, and got the MM Jazz.

MIJ:

SOME have American pickups
Average top-load bridge
Average electronics (unless it's some sig)
Good tuners, capacitatios, etc.

MIA:

American pickups
American electronics
Great tuners, etc.
Graphite reinforced neck
Handmade neck
More finishes (if you care)
More options (body, fretwood)
Better top-load/string thru bridge

That's it, I think.

Rollo47 06-08-2005 07:54 PM

Not too bad at all.

Spaceman Spiff 06-08-2005 08:01 PM

I need to go to my cousin's bar mitzvah on Saturday... such a waste of a Saturday for me... unless I get wasted, then it's just fine.

And I have no business there besides my family; I'm 17, 13 year old girls are not appealing to me!
