oh **** well lack of flash is probably your issue
yeah windows 7 is kinda gay so far just cuz nothing is compatible with it yet. My dad just got a ****ing amazing computer with windows 7 purely for recording and it's not compatible with the software he got so now he's thinking of selling it for a mac and i'm like ugh **** mac just put xp on it
I have Windows 7 (32-bit, because not enough companies have made the switch to 64-bit yet) and Adobe Audition 3 works just fine for me. Not sure what program he is wanting to use, though. I f**king hate flash. Worst.Invention.Ever. |
The funny thing is that even Vista was **** when it came to compatiability with most audio software.
In typical Digidesign money grubbing they made it so you could only run pro tools on Vista Ultimate and maybe business, home and basic wouldn't work. XP for the win. CIRCA 2 HOURS BEFORE MY FIREPOD ARRIVES *YIPEE*. |
yeah **** digidesign i had to buy an m-audio interface just for protools and even then i cant use PT8 i have to use 7.4
so gay |
Lol and that is why I will never use Pro tools at home unless I have the cash to drop on a Pro Tools HD rig. And even then only so I'd be compatible with 80% of the industry.
And that ****'s only Pro tools m-powered right? Digidesign < all. |
Oh and their hardware sucks balls.
|
yeah digidesign interfaces SUCK and yes its mpowered v7.4 thats the latest release
|
Lol way to update LE but not m powered. Bastards.
What presonus interface do you have? Is it that inspire one or whatever? How does it compare to your m-audio one? |
i have a presonus firebox i REALLY like it
i have an m-audio pre usb interface which i actually traded with ben lesser for, it gets the job done fine |
Lol yeah I saw you traded for your Brice a while back.
I was gonna get the firestudio mobile until I saw the fp10 second hand the same day for about the same price and jumped on it. Firebox has class a's right? |

i want to start a post-hardcore band
|
Holy ****. I just tried typing in "musicianforums" to get here. What the hell ***?
|
I just listened to Continuum for the first time in years. My how my tastes have changed... Sure, there's some part of me that will always respect what the virtuosos of this instrument have done to provide different roles to bass players in music... but ****. Really? I listened to this? I think the elitist in me always just pretended to enjoy it, or something.
|
I'm still not pass out drunk yet. Somebody needs to post with me. (Please let it be someone interesting.)
|
So, I design Coldfusion based webpages and whatnot now days. It's cool and stuff - makes me really hate having to hard code HTML crap again.
...I don't even have a domain? Why am I coding? |
I find it ironic that Gaslight has the most post in this thread when he's active during the slowest possible traffic of the day.
|
Tryxxx, you wanna go?
I can take you. Where you been, dawg? |
we all square with money and whatnot now joe? thanks a bunch again for doing that for me :)

Yeah, dude. No problem. Josh said he emailed you yesterday....did you get it? Are you guys working out the shipping? |
Re-recorded my vocals last night with an SM-58 instead of my Oktavia MK-319. It sounds infinitely better because there is more of a bass/low-mid response, so it doesn't remind me of somebody stepping on my balls.. My recording guy suggested that I consider a Beta-58A for just a little bit more low end.
On top of that, I adjusted my singing a bit to keep the intensity with less force applied, so I was able to re-record all of the vocals. My throat was a little sore in the end, so I obviously need to work on my technique a little more and toughen up the throat muscles, but I'm much happier with the way it sounds now. |
yup

Me too. We can have 3 bassists. |
Sweet. Guy on Craigslist is selling a broken Ampeg BA500 amp. The speakers and box apparently were damaged, but the head part works. He says it's crackly, and I'm thinking it's just because he's trying to power extension speakers and this amp was notorious for having a crackly extension speaker outs & DI outs.
He only wants $60 for it, so I'm going to get it and build a new box as originally intended. :) Yay I'm going to build a 1x12 & slightly modify a Bill Fitzmaurice cab to house it. |
Cool stuff.
I've started watching Weeds from the beginning. I'm almost through the first season and I'm really liking it. |
Lol i'll play guitar and program drums/mix it all thank you very much;)
You can do vox as well.
Ok, then we'll let Chris do bass, I can provide some rhythm guitar and potentially do vox (I'll send you our mixed song when our recording dude is done with the first mix), and you can do the rest. Sounds sweet. |
*turns on overprotective arrogant guitarist mode*
"NAH MANG I WANNA DO ALL TEH GUITARZ! GET OUT OF MY GRILL HOLMES, THIS IS MY BAND, ANYTHING I SAY GOES." *turns off overprotective arrogant guitarist mode* Anyways. That sounds great broski.
(I'll send you our mixed song when our recording dude is done with the first mix)
Is this just for me to idk, analyse it or soemthing? If so sweet as. You can record at home and what not right? Haha yeah Chris probably has the best tone with that beastly Matamp of his. I just go straight into my firepod <.< ... >.> ... <.<. |

You've complained, multiple times, about the terrible recording quality, so I figured I'd get you a better mix so you can stfu about it. :p I love my tone, but my strings are dead right now, so it's kind of dull. I need to find that new pack of strings that I bought so that I can clean the old ones. |
Joel, what's your email address?

you seem lonely |
I am a bit lonely, dudesy. My roommate works nights now, so I don't get to see him or jam with him anymore; my girlfriend lives 2 hours away for school, so I only get her on weekends; and MX is dead.
How's your band doin', holmes? |
Sounds like a drag man.
My band that's doing an album at the moment is okay, looking for a new drummer at the same time as our vocal tracks are getting done and then I'm really looking forward to long days of mixing and unhealthy snacking. Other than just jammin' with buddies to try and keep some chops up. I didn't realise how good for my playing doing three rehearsals with that band was a week until we stopped doing it during album/loss of drummer time and really felt my endurance slacken up and all that. Scary / mildly annoying. I'm thinking of transcribing all my bass parts from it in the meantime for practise and to punish me by making my face up to every little mistake or less than ideal part. |

I have this horrific habit of improvising everything when I play under chords (it's the jazz bassist in me), so if I can just write something I'm particularly proud of, I'll learn it and set it in stone. Plus, they'll be all written out so that fake books can just pay me the money for my bassline tabs instead of spending thousands for some dude to transcribe it. Gassy, what's your email address? |
Haha exactly man, half my style is improvisational though and I do like it. I sort of set the main parts in stone and then do whatever I feel around the rest.
