you are lucky BFAG... at my old school we didn't have any music classes except for band.. and the people that were in that were major dorks, so of course I just taught myself everything I know--which isn't much theory, scales...blah blah, but I do know how to do a lot of techniques, so the next thing i need to do is study up on theory.. when ihave the time of course

Left Shoe 09-27-2004 03:15 PM

my school is pretty poor but we have a decent band program , we just got 3rd in a regional of about 30+ bands.

FUNKNBASS 09-27-2004 03:24 PM

I got into a wicked bad car crash yesterday and i'm all brused up, iwent to go play bass awhile later and my right wrist and ring finger were hurting, there not broke but my doctor said i shouldnt move them much.

Saitoku 09-27-2004 03:30 PM

^^that sucks. Last time I was in a car accident was when my friend hit a deer with me in the passenger seat. We were listening to "Electric Uncle Sam" by Primus. Now I picture that deer flying through the air every time I hear that song. Somw would say it's sad. Some would say funny. I'm not sure.

Left Shoe 09-27-2004 03:31 PM

they shuld mix those feelings for sadistic comedians. fad or sunny you guys choose

Foxfire 09-27-2004 03:47 PM

*cries* I can't play "You Can't Hold No Groove." My fingers aren't long enough. :(

Saitoku 09-27-2004 03:49 PM

^^Break your fingers and stretch them out, then when they heal they'll stay that way. :thumb:

Foxfire 09-27-2004 03:50 PM

Lol. :p

And these Artifical Harmonics I can't get either. :( I have some growing to do yet. :thumb:

How old are you? I'm 20 and I've got slightly small hands, (I'm only 5'5") I haven't come across anything that was too hard for me to play if I practice enough. Then again I don't play much wooten. :)

Crapdragoon 09-27-2004 04:11 PM

STOP THE PRESSES, I'm here.

whats up everybody *walks into a cheers style bar, and awaits everybody to greet him*

FUNKNBASS 09-27-2004 04:14 PM

I'm 13 (about 5'10, I think?), so I've still got some growing ahead of me, I think.

I can stretch four frets (1 to 4), and it's my actual genetic limit. I kept stretching for weeks until, finally, my pinky "popped" and I couldn't use it for a day. :p

 That would kinda scare me if my pinkie popped out of joint while I was playing.

As for the genetic limit thing, that might not be true for you. Everyone in my fiance's family can't really stretch their fingers very much, (having to use the pinkie for power chords) so none of them play guitar, but I convinced her brother to try it. Now he can stretch his hand a lot better.

FUNKNBASS 09-27-2004 04:32 PM

I have monster hands, I can reach from the first fret to the 5/6th with my pinky on a 34" scale fretless.

:amaze: 09-27-2004 04:39 PM

I'm making a new song guys. It's very .... different from my other stuff.

:amaze:

FUNKNBASS 09-27-2004 04:40 PM

Cool, I love making different songs, its more fun than doing the same thing over and over.
