Can we ban people for being attention trolls?
If that's directed at me, I think the fact that he came into the Beatles thread and made a clear attack on them warrants a banning. |
No, dividng the R&M up is just silly.
Indeed. Rockers post in the rock threads and metallers in the metal threads, simple as this http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=382790 SOAD wot d u think thread. Could have used the search button |
Actually I think the search feature is broken. But that guy's still a dope.

And metallers post in rock threads, and rockers post in metal threads.
Actually I think the search feature is broken. But that guy's still a dope.
Well it just turned up 150 results for 'System of a down' so I don't really think it is. |
Munky for the win!
|
the search function is really annoying
or it comes up with no results beacause your entry is too common, or you get 5 pages of results. |
If that's directed at me, I think the fact that he came into the Beatles thread and made a clear attack on them warrants a banning.
Actually it's aimed at "hermz".
the search function is really annoying or it comes up with no results beacause your entry is too common, or you get 5 pages of results.
Either use broader terms, or make your search more specific. It works fine for me. |
The search function doesn't work for me either. When I search the forum, usually things like the YSI or community thread appear.
The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search: of, a, Down
|
The search function doesn't work for me either. When I search the forum, usually things like the YSI or community thread appear.
Because the terms you are searching for have been mentioned in those threads. And it doesn't search for any term less than five characters. |
And metallers post in rock threads, and rockers post in metal threads.
Well it just turned up 150 results for 'System of a down' so I don't really think it is.
Really? I keep getting an error message when I search for stuff. |
Either use broader terms, or make your search more specific. It works fine for me.
Yes. Since we're on the topic of System of a Down, search for words such as Toxicity, Malakian, Tankien, Mezmerize, etc. You'll get results. |

Stupid game thread. |
So I've got 2 extra tickets for Gigantour tomorrow, would it be okay to make a thread in here about selling them, or should I just stick to the classifieds?
Stick to the classifieds. I believe I got everything listed on the problem list. Have been busy with some music stuff but am back more full time now! Also, on renaming the official threads and the threads like the Classic Rock thread etc.. do you guys think we should create a thread specifically for dealing with this transistion? I am worried if we do it in this thread it will get covered up or cover up problems. Lets hear some suggestions. |

Can you guys start cracking down on morons who when they see an ilegal thread that just say "read the rules" or "offical <band> thread, n00bzorz"? It's really annoying. The least people can do is provide them with a link, not just pointlessly raising their postcounts.

oh yes, do something, it's really irritating, especially when someone before them has already stated to the threadstarter that the thread is illegal  /this is where neg rep goes :D EDIT: I must admit though that lately things are much better :)
Stick to the classifieds. How about letting the regulars of each official thread carry out their own poll (R&Mer of the Month voting method) inside their thread? |
I think he meant create a seperate thread to alert people to the the re-namings of the Official threads.

if this is the case...oops :D How about a new announcement? |
Me and some of the guys in the Metallica thread were talking about doing online bands and stuff. Is there a way we can get a thread for that. I wanted to ask before I posted anything.
How I was thinking of doing this is, using audacity and a mic, we record our original song ideas and then upload them to the other band members. The other band members implement that (riff/motiff/ etc.) into audacity and record their stuff over it. Maybe we could break up the bands by style of music. Thrash has it's own thing, Death and Black metal have theirs, etc. Opinions? |
I believe this has been done - Official Cover Competition Thread or something - :s
|
Yeah, a competition was created which planned to pit the covers done by regulars of official threads against each other but it didn't really get anywhere due to a lack of activity on behalf of most parties.
I guess that just a R&M forum band could be done, possibly. |

I think it might be a good idea to add Mister Blue Sky's and Heavy Riva's threads somewhere in the rules. It seems a waste to spend time on such a good thread when mostly people who already know how to post will read it. If it were inserted into the rules, just briefly, with maybe something along the lines of :
"For a guide on how to make good threads, click here" "For some great posting tips click here." Just a suggestion though, take it for what it's worth. |

No what I'm saying is that we create original bands online. Give people time to create a set list, then have a battle of the bands. |
No what I'm saying is that we create original bands online. Give people time to create a set list, then have a battle of the bands.
Its a good idea, but I don't think it will work. If threads couldn't get organised to simply do covers, then I can't see originals getting done. |

Is your concept different from this: http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=347154&highlight=official+cover+competition? |
