Got my megadeth tickets today :D
I wanna go see them at Donington in June but they play on the Friday and if I did go to see them it would really be a waste of a day as they're the only good band on that day. I don't wanna sound like an asshole with that statement but why the fuck are Feeder headlining the day, especially when it's a \m/ concert  I reckon the DtP crew should go on the Friday and assault if not kill a load of pink t-shirt clad Feeder fanboys  Anthrax are on the Saturday and Slayer on the Sunday so there's still a thrash presence, not as much as I would like though :upset: EDIT: Would be nice if someone like Kreator or Exodus made the line-up but I doubt that's gonna happen :upset: |
I wish Exodus and Kreator would get their arses out to Australia. >:[
 So why am I not a part of the Death to Poseurs crew?
Becuase you're not I saw that Sabbat CD once, but it was for £16 in HMV, and theres no way i would pay that. I think The Haunted suck. |
I wish Exodus and Kreator would get their arses out to Australia. >:[
I wish we didn't only get the crappy mainstream "metal" bands out here. |
I wish we didn't only get the crappy mainstream "metal" bands out here.
:upset: :upset: so true, i suppose we do get the odd decent metal band out this way, but not often. |
We get better rock bands in general, then metal ones. I'm sad that the rumours of Judas Priest and Iron Maiden touring down here seem to be unfounded.
|
Yeah, been hearing those ones for a while now. The guitarist from Exodus said they were coming, i read it in an interview, but that was a while ago, and they are recording a new album now anyway. Hopefully they come supporting that.
Otherwise blood will be spilt >:[ |
That's what I hang out for. New albums mean tours (hopefully world-wide) and that means the chances of an Australian tour increases greatly.
Who's blood shall we spill? |
<---- naturally
|
I'm guessing we kill poseurs, and not you. :)
|
i couldn't get the darn thing to go down a couple of spaces. We have taken over the thread now. |
Well, we are Aussies. Our natural coolness allows us to easily dominate the puny minds of others. :)

Never has a truer word been said.

I must be one of the few left of the Titans of Thrash

People weren't paying enough attention to us. Now we will make them listen  :p

NP: Sepultura - Meaningless Movements
Nice :thumb: Oy! Made my month CD purchases today. Really good stuff too: Coroner - No More Color Overkill - **** You (And then some!)/Feel The Fire (New reissue) Anthrax - Among The Living 4 Different CDs for $40 bucks too. Great snag  |
I think The Haunted suck.
This was the band I had in mind when I put "wiffle-thrash" in my profile blurb.
Guy s,d ude, dhcange your a****nig anvatars y0. you gusys all lookging the same!
 Wanna join, O imbibed one?
I reckon the DtP crew should go on the Friday and assault if not kill a load of pink t-shirt clad Feeder fanboys
I shall make my presence known
Why not? Just wondering.
You have a Metallica ripoff name, and you rated Chaos AD above Bestial Devastation. |
My Overkill order of Feel the Fire has just come in. Now all I have to do is find a time to go pick it up

Caught in a Mosh = PwNaGe x 1231232141532523532874732462141 times  Seriously, that riff Bello plays at the end of the intro, it's just so awesome, and then the drumming gets heavy too. Towards the end, I noticed the songs get faster, which is kickass. I didn't expect Anthrax to get that thrashy. Coroner though. GOD ****...this is like brutal technical in a blender thrash. Ron's bass playing...I looked at some pics too, and he plays without a pick. Those riffs are ****ing complet to, and it's amazing just to hear the technicality of Coroner. Overkill though, man, great stuff, especially **** YOU (And then Some). "We don't care what you say, **** YOU!" <- that sounds like a good slogan for Death To Posers. |

I made my name a looong time ago. December 2003 in fact. So that is irrelevant. Bestial Devastation is IMO not very well played, its kinda sloppy. But the later thrash albums are much better. I love them. Especially BtR. I don't much like Chaos Ad, but I do feel its better then Bestial Devastation. |
Dargon, The Haunted aren't whiffle-thrash. They aren't even thrash!
Whiffle-thrash is highly polished (production-wise) and politically charged thrash with watered-down and repetitive riffs. Some whiffle-thrash is good though, because the riffs are good at times and don't bore you when they are repeated. Note how in my profile I stated against bad whiffle-thrash. Notable whiffle-thrash albums: Testament - Practice What You Preach Exodus - Fabulous Disaster (Not fully a whiffed album, though helped usher in the genre. An example of a good "whiffed" thrash album.) Exodus - Impact Is Imminent (WHIFF! Only Death Decides is a good song though.) :thumb: |
Impact Is Imminent is listenable, but yeah, it's packed with crap. Anyway, has anybody heard Leviathan - Legions of the Undead? Was Chris Barnes' band before he started doing crap music.
I stumbled upon them on Metal Archives when I was looking up on Lowbrow. Anyway, there's a review of the EP and it's from our good friend UltraBoris, probably the most eilitest prat around the world. Anyway, he compares their sound to Darkness Descends era Dark Angel. I was just wondering if anyones had the pleasure of listening to them. |
havent heard of them, UltraBoris' Darkness Descends reveiw is awesome but.

I want to go buy that, hopefully somebody somewhere has it. I enjoy Boris' reviews, even if they bash albums I like. He's not really an elitist compared to that Cynical dude, though. |

I got Testament's legacy album (greatest hits exept they don't really have hits ;)). It's awesome.
Would Exodus be another band to check into? |
I got Testament's legacy album (greatest hits exept they don't really have hits ;)). It's awesome.
Would Exodus be another band to check into?
Definately! Go for Bonded By Blood by them to start off with.
Would Master of Puppets and other early Metallica fall into this category? it seems like they would to me.
Definately not. Those albums (Except for AJFA) were neither highly-polished nor politcally-charged, and definitely featured some great riffs. Thinking that those albums were whiffed makes me wonder if you've even listened to them. |
What would a good Sadus album be?
