And hello gav!

How was your spanish exam? (if I'm right)

bottlerocket 06-08-2005 06:05 AM

^ That's next period...aaaaaaaaaand I had to work last night and I'm totally going to fail.

It's not even on the Spanish language (like it's supposed to be). It's on the history of Spain and its provinces...apparently I need to know what the largest export from Castilla-La Mancha is.

Hey Guys...

Anyone remember who makes that bass?

:smoke:

Damrod 06-08-2005 09:07 AM

So, I just got pierced about 2 hours ago. I want a ring through my lower lip, but until it's healed I have to wear a stick with a ball on the outside. It looks funny. :)

Just wanted to share. :)

gaslight 06-08-2005 09:10 AM

My Mogwai gear is confirmed to be on it's way :D.

I am getting better at Ear Training :D.

I played a terrible set tonight because I was absolutely screwed by the sound set-up and all I could hear the entire night was this horrible resonant feedback. Oddly enough, it didn't make it out the front of house speakers, so it looked like I was tripping out in my own little world. I checked with the drummer and he said it wasn't coming through his foldback, so I tried my best to play through it without getting thrown off, apparently noone really noticed, and it didn't wreck the set as I had been fearing. Was very stressful/awkward/embarassing but stuff happens and it wasn't all that bad in the end, still, life has its unhappy moments.

:D Those ones are nice! Too bad that I know already 3 people with such a thing.. So I can't have one myself.

You are a mod? From which forum? :)
And how is the bass playing going?

I know some folks having that as well. Our singer/guitarist for example. But he has it on the right side, I on the left :) If you like to have one, I'd go for it. It was a bit more painfull then I expected, but nothung that is unbearable.
You are a mod? From which forum? :)

I've been apointed mod of the Sputnik Site forum and of Sputnik, like Med57. We do not have much power outside of that though
And how is the bass playing going?

Quite well actually. I'm in a band... I think it was February when I joined. We already played a gig, and I'm happy as hell. We write new material right now, and one of the best (if not THE best) song we have is finished soon. It's a lot of fun, and much more rewarding than playing for yourself with the home stereo

nisakss 06-08-2005 09:37 AM

It's funny, but i really think i'm gonna miss this thread.

gaslight 06-08-2005 09:38 AM

Don't worry, the thread won't die, it will just live on in a new incarnation :).

kilian 06-08-2005 09:39 AM

Nah I get myself a tattoo when I'm 18 I think.. My mom and dad would kick me out of the house or something like that if I did both :thumb:

Post the recordings somewhere if you have them =)
Bands are really nice.. my band and I are going to record within the next 4 weeks :smoke:

nisakss 06-08-2005 09:40 AM

Yes, but it's just like an era that ended....i don't know...I'm very sensible today *feels very gay*

gaslight 06-08-2005 09:44 AM

I want ever so much for a band :(.

I'm writing my own stuff on guitar but I don't know if I can find the right musicians for it or not, maybe I'll multitrack it all at home for a sense of accomplishment*.

*fun.

Anyway yeah, it is the end of an era in a way. Kinda like when you finish a can, then you open a new can, it's the cycle of life *wipes tear.*

Fuck I hate going to pubs, I'm covered in stale cigarette smoke . Someone was just breathing it out over me all night, and whats the point? Congratulations, you're a drug addict, go endanger someone else's health, prick.

I like waffles.

Those are not the best. But good. Especially Leafless is a lot of fun to play, though it's simple. Live I do some backing vocals for that one too. *proud*

You'll find the right folks, I'm sure. Sometimes one has to search a bit though. I had luck with the band, but actually I'm about the 4th bass player, and the first they are really happy with.

Yeah, it's all just a matter of patience.

It would be easy to find a band that I could play with, but you know, like, I really want to be in a band that is exactly the kind of music I want to make. I have put some ads up at my music school, but nothing has come of it yet. I guess I'll just write the stuff and when someone comes along, all the better.

It frustrates me though, because I have a really strong urge to be in a productive band as soon as possible, and get out playing serious gigs and all that, and when all that holds you back is something you can't control like, lack of other musicians, it can be a bit frustrating.

But it's all good, I'm 18, I probably shouldn't be stressing so much about it, there is plenty of time, but I would just prefer to be doing it already.

Ah well, patience :smoke:.

How is your band? What style? Name? Related questions?
Alright, so, I listened to this band called the Decemberists today, by recommendation from a friend, and I actually didn't despise them. Now, I don't know what kind of music you'd call it, but it definately reminds me of emo. Please tell me that I did not just listen to an emo band and liked it.
How is your band? What style? Name? Related questions?
I'd post our homepage, but I doubt you can read/speak german :)

The band is called 'The Stokers'. Basically, we play a mix of Punk, Grunge and generall rock. Some folks told me after our gig that we sound like a 70s rock band sometimes. We're five overall: guitar, guitar/vocals, vocals (female, the only girl in the band), bass/vocals (that's me :)) and drums.

All info I could think right now. Further questions? :)
