This forum is so ****ing depressingly empty now.
I'd make it a 29" Baritone Tele, white, black hardware, EMG pickups, and an ebony fretboard.

That would be sexy.
Just say that you'd make it a bass and be done with it .

Spaceman Spiff 01-23-2010 12:40 PM

Oh man. For a birthday present, my friend/drummer in my band built me a pedal board. It's so badass.

And he stained it the same color as his drums from when he did those. We can be all cool and matching. :p

Spaceman Spiff 01-23-2010 01:15 PM

We have this friend that's booked a lot of shows for us and has helped us a lot since we started, he just started up a label and asked us if we want to be on it. That's pretty cool. He's been around for quite a while in the Toronto music scene playing in bands, booking shows, promoting, managing, etc.

It doesn't really mean anything, but now we can act all cocky towards everyone and be like, "Yeah, we're signed. We're big time now."

This is good bro!

fatbandit 01-23-2010 02:19 PM

Joe, check your paypals.

Yeah, being signed is kinda weird for us. Very little has changed as we haven't recorded our album for the label or anything yet, but people and promoters etc assume we are bigger than we are, which can work for us and against us too :/

Spaceman Spiff 01-23-2010 02:22 PM
This is good bro!
It's a good start, for sure. Hopefully it can turn into something bigger, but I never thought we'd even get signed to the most independant of labels, so.. :D

Gattsu347 01-23-2010 02:44 PM

does he have other bands?

Spaceman Spiff 01-23-2010 03:05 PM
does he have other bands?
He does.

He's getting together a few compilation CDs of the bands, including us, to send out places, it seems. I couldn't say where, but he knows a lot of people in the city.

fatbandit 01-23-2010 08:01 PM

Convectuoso 01-23-2010 08:22 PM

I hate you, and/or have fun lol.

Take picture or something

fatbandit 01-24-2010 06:53 AM

I don't really do pictures at gigs. They always come out really badly :(

gaslight 01-24-2010 07:03 AM

It's true.

I always look bad in gig photos.

Gattsu347 01-24-2010 11:06 PM

fatbandit 01-25-2010 06:59 AM

So Glassjaw were kinda disappointing. They played 3 songs from EYEWTKAS, out of a 90 minute set. They did what they did well, but that's what I really went to see them play :(

gaslight 01-25-2010 07:02 AM

Sorry to hear that buddy I know you're a big fan :(.

fatbandit 01-25-2010 07:23 AM

I'll cope :) They played a good handful of new songs and looked like they enjoyed having something fresh to play. They've only put out two albums and a couple of EPs since like ten years ago, so I can understand them not playing much from the first album if they're bored of it. So if the new songs stack up, I'm pretty much really looking forward to the mythical third album ;p

gaslight 01-25-2010 07:29 AM

It's good to see you bouncing back fast

fatbandit 01-25-2010 07:34 AM

feed me.

BenJammin 01-25-2010 07:40 AM

A buddy of mine saw them open for Brand New, and said they were absolutely atrocious. Just way too loud and sloppy and impossible to hear clearly (I guess that's as much the fault of the sound guy as anyone).

gaslight 01-25-2010 07:45 AM

I ain't feeding anyone.

fatbandit 01-25-2010 07:47 AM

The sound wasn't great all night. Bit mushy. But I could hear everything pretty much as well as can be expected for a gig like that. I didn't think they were sloppy or anything though. Daryl was really hit and miss with his singing. Some of it was sublime, and some of it sounded like he just couldn't be bothered to remember his words.

Got it. :)

I can send you a copy of the money order receipt if you'd like it for your records. The payment should be to him sometime this week.

Sweet. Lemme see.

Spaceman Spiff 01-25-2010 11:47 AM

I'll try to get some pictures. I also need a sweet group shot of all my stuff looking pretty:
Tele
Jazzmaster
Ibanez ORM
Ibanez SR506
Pedal board w/ pedals
Line 6 PodXT Live

I don't keep my main amp at home, just a couple practice amps.

rh15951 01-25-2010 04:13 PM

rh15951 01-25-2010 04:13 PM

Tryxx 01-26-2010 05:56 PM

Trying to listen to some of the tracks that have been posted, but I'm having issues. Tried IE, Firefox, and Opera. Any suggestions?

If none of those work, it's a problem with your computer, or you don't have to latest plugins & versions.

Probably don't. Just got Windows 7 64-bit, and some plugins aren't available. (Like flash for example.) Ah, well. Thanks.

oh **** well lack of flash is probably your issue

yeah windows 7 is kinda gay so far just cuz nothing is compatible with it yet. My dad just got a ****ing amazing computer with windows 7 purely for recording and it's not compatible with the software he got so now he's thinking of selling it for a mac

and i'm like

ugh **** mac

just put xp on it

Aside from this issue, I've been pretty happy, but I'll be the first to admit it's a big one. :p I'm hoping when the first service pack comes out soon things will start changing pretty quickly, since businesses will probably start adopting it.

That's the thing though half the time these business just upgrade because it comes out and they want to be on the "top" of the "technological" list so they can "tempt" customers with that or something along those lines idk...
