That's becaues everything in ann arbor has obscene pricing.

The Jungler 09-04-2007 07:44 PM
people around here put out $115 for some Kenny Chesney concert this past weekend, and i thought they were dumb.
A bunch of idiots in my school went to that.

$115 is too much for anybody.

masada 09-04-2007 07:46 PM

over $30 is way too much

The Jungler 09-04-2007 07:51 PM

Over $30 isn't too bad if the whole bill is really good, I guess.

Mission of Burma and Blonde Redhead are both coming here in the same week and I think I have to choose between them :(

plane 09-04-2007 07:53 PM

While Blonde Redhead are pretty awesome live, I would say Mission of Burma, based on the fact that they won't be around as much as Blonde Redhead. If you like 23 though, it could be a hard choice because they play a lot of songs off of that-- at least they did when I saw them a few weeks ago.

Apocalyptic Raids 09-04-2007 08:54 PM

just got daft punk tickets. yesss.

Yeah go to Mission of Burma.

Next month I'm going to Pelican, The Drones, Nick Cave, La Quiete (x2 hopefully), Justin Timberlake. Nothing next month except KTL if I feel like it.

Upcoming shows I want to go to
They Might Be Giants
Pinback
World/Inferno Friendship Society

The only one that is really plausible is TMBG as it's in my hometown and if I really want to go, friends will help me get there.

Thanks 09-04-2007 10:03 PM

I'm seeing TMBG in Ann Arbor.

Anxious 09-04-2007 10:06 PM

I'm going to end up missing Acid Mothers Temple next week because I'm not driving to West Hollywood and go to the show by myself.

I'm seeing Black Moth Super Rainbow in 2 weeks for sure though.

dei 09-04-2007 10:28 PM

Go see Blonde Redhead.

I don't listen to Acid Mothers Temple, but I'll go if you need someone to hang with. We could stand around and pretend that it's not uncomfortable and that we're having fun with each other.
Modest Mouse Spoon Built to Spill M Ward Thievery Corporation M.I.A. DJ Shadow in 2 weeks.
thievery corporation puts on such a good show

ATM 09-04-2007 10:36 PM

BMSR were sweet when I saw them, except they did no live vocals.

Anus Invader 09-04-2007 10:45 PM

whaaat? booooo that's pretty disappointing to me... i would imagine they would use a vocal synth... Air did when they played and i loved it, it was perfect. but coincidentally Dandelion Gum just came in the mail today... what a ****ing amazing album! i listened intently to the first twelve tracks and then my friend came with Pathfinder that he had just gotten on DVD (****ing awesome too but shitty ending) so we cut it off but jesus christ... i cannot believe i have overlooked this for so long. eeeeeeeasily a new favorite of '07

ATM 09-04-2007 10:47 PM

Yea, that album rules.

I was pretty pissed at first about the no live vocals, but they sounded awesome otherwise.

Robert Crumb 09-04-2007 11:04 PM

I'm missing Old Time Relijun right now. Fuck this article so hard. I shoulda gone and blew this off.

Also, Mission of Burma is fantastic live, everyone should give them monies.

Anus Invader 09-04-2007 11:05 PM

i should probably dl a Mission of Burma album

theyre one of those bands i hear so much about that i feel obligated to check out

Robert Crumb 09-04-2007 11:11 PM

Signals, Calls and Marches is a pretty nice place to start. Or I think that's what I started with, at least.

ATM 09-04-2007 11:17 PM

Get Vs.

Anus Invader 09-04-2007 11:20 PM

getting Obliterati, Electro-Acoustic Sessions, Vs., and Signals Calls and Marches

I'd have to knife you when the show was over though.

I've been counting on BMSR being good live because they do open for the Flaming Lips. I'm looking forward to it more now that you guys have said good things about it though

Apocalyptic Raids 09-05-2007 12:10 AM

i'd love to see that bmsr+flaming lips show.

Anxious 09-05-2007 12:21 AM

They do open for the Flaming Lips on occasion, I'm seing them headline for Auditory Aphasia which are some new psych/prog band.
