I'm applying for a provincial gov't job.
No reasonable expectation of getting it, but doesn't hurt to try. |
Never hurts to try. I was not expecting them to like the "samples" I sent them at all :p
|
Worth a shot man.
Being paid to write about whatever you want to is a pretty sweet gig. |
I sent in three things as samples.
A personal essay about why getting dangerously drunk doesn't lead to violence. A persuasive article about water fluoridation. And a review of a Beer Cafe' in town. I don't think I could've gotten more diverse without writing something new. |
Knowing that ex's are sluts and their new (multiple) boyfriends are ugly, priceless:

That's a fine lookin' girl.
|
He looks like a choad, but she's a piece.
|
Minus the airbrushing was a little less flattering.
And she couldn't suck dick for nuts. Yeah I went there. EDIT: Minus the sluttiness she was an alright girl. |
And to prove I don't make up my continual stories
The tattoo on her right hip that's only just half showing says "Lavan Yannah" if I remember correctly which translates to White Dove. |
Do your first article about her.
|
Do her.
Fixed that for you. |
You're not listening, I did that some time ago and it was mediocre.

Guess I missed that post. Shame. |
Guess I missed that post.
Shame.
You're telling me  Ah well, maybe I'm just too needy. :smoke: |
I dunno, a girl who can't suck it isn't worth being with.

Don't patronise me. She was a slut was the point I was getting at. I don't need or want that **** in my life again. |
Seriously it's a basic girlfriend skill, that's like a drummer who can't keep time.
|
-_-'
|
I agree, however :smash:
|
I'll get a price quote on my sixer this week, pics or consequences once it's mine.
|
Nice.
Now that I'm actually playing regularly with the band and stuff, I've noticed my stamina and endurance has really increased. For a while, I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to play an hour set with my 6er, but it's more than do-able. My wrist doesn't start to hurt until after 4 hours or so. |
Yeah I'm still conflicted about getting one but now that it's tax deductible I really might as well.
|
Honestly, I think they're great, and I've had a ton of use out of mine. Granted, I've been playing bass for about 6.5 years now, and I've been playing 6ers exclusively for about 5 of those, so it's what I'm used to.
|
I've been exclusive to 4s for about 8 years. That said my guitars are all six strings so how much of a baby can I be about it :p?
I know I'll have a lot of fun doing tapping and **** on it though so I'm looking forward to that :). |
loltapping. I went through that phase went I first got my 6, but grew out of it quickly. I play fingerstyle (in some form or another) 95% of the time, and occasionally slap (I do it a lot in my spare time, though, because I like to keep my chops up, and my slap tone is awesome).
One of the things I like the most is being able to have such a huge range of notes available without having to move my hand much. One of our songs, I span all 6 strings, but don't have to move past the 7th fret. |
Tapping is beautiful, you just have to know when it's appropriate. I keep my chops up on every technique I can, except double thumbing which I never was able to really get in on.
Slapping really doesn't leave the house too often these days :p. I barely ever even get students wanting to work on it. |
Yeah, unless you play funk or R&B or something, there's really no room for slap.
|

I barely ever even get students wanting to work on it.
I tapped when I had my GT-7 because it had a 34" scale and because it had ridiculously low action. I normally play fingerstyle with my 6-string, so I use a bit higher action, heavy strings, and a 35" scale - it's not very condusive to a tapping environment. |

I don't know about that, I heard some metal song the other day that had some bad-*** slapping in it. I slap in one or two of our songs because I have to hit some C-string harmonics while playing my E-string. I have only the duration of an 8th note at 190bpm to pull it off. There's no way I can pull off a regular fingerstyle string jump that fast.
