that's ironic, i don't recall you ever making a post outside of stronghold... hmmmmm... i see the intent of the rep system has failed.

LoneStarDrummer 03-02-2008 11:47 PM

i don't understand the purpose of the rep system. what's it's purpose?

mutual masturbation basically.

LoneStarDrummer 03-03-2008 12:12 AM

i had a sneaking suspicion that that's what it was for. i didn't want to say in fear of being wrong and coming across as a little odd.

Sunshine 03-03-2008 12:12 AM

Hell yeah.
Talked to my mom for an hour on the phone, talked about how stuff's goin' with her, how college is goin' for me, tentative future plans, my boyfriend, worked the conversation around to my severe lack of fundage and inability to obtain it, and she's gonna call the bank tomorrow and transfer some cash into my account.
That wins.

On the downside, I had both a nice and shitty weekend with my boyfriend at the same time :(

Drum Phil 03-03-2008 04:26 AM
WMP says that i have 5000 songs but that number sounds a little fishy and makes me think that it is estimating it. That's 394 hours and on average each song is 4.728 minutes each.
Christ, transferring 150Gb from an IDE drive to a SATA2 drive is annoying.

Kainen 03-03-2008 09:37 AM

ouch phil. I find transfering any amount of data to be annoying. :(

Janeway 03-03-2008 09:45 AM

the idea, was when someone makes a useful post (ie answers your question), you give them + rep. when someone makes a disuasive or annoying or pointless or flaming post, you give them - rep. Then, the rep indicates the quality of the poster.

however, with the advent of The Pit (and this started back when there was a pit and it still had full rep/post count abilities), people just repped for shits and giggles and to mock the system.

that mocking attitude spilled into all of the other forums with the closing of the pit and the "pitsters" scattering.

and now you're left with the meaningless system that is the rep system.

Sunshine 03-03-2008 11:39 AM

But its a fun time, and allows for private messages omgz.

So tonight its either supposed to snow an inch or a foot, they really can't tell.
Wtf?

Drum Phil 03-03-2008 11:41 AM

I remember when there was no rep system.

Fun times.

Sunshine 03-03-2008 12:24 PM

Ugh.
Its so cold and rainy and shitty out, but I want to go swimming.
But that's not the problem.
The problem is afterwards I have to go find health services over on the other side of campus [even though that's not saying much, but, its cold]..and have to get all shot up.
Part 2 [of two] of the Hep A series [which I've completed TWICE so it's ridiculous that I'm doing this a third time], and part 1 [of three] of the HPV...A SHOT THAT CAN PREVENT CANCER.

Well, one type anyway.

_Wrathchild_ 03-03-2008 12:32 PM

My mom said I should get this vaccine that prevents the 9 types of HPV that can cause cancer, but I'm too lazy and I don't have sex anyway so I don't need it at this point.

K I've been sick all week and haven't done much other than sleep and occassionally try to do school work, but I've lost weight from doing nothing. Since I've still been eating relatively healthy and haven't been throwing up, I've determined I must have lost muscle mass from lying around all week and not going to the gym for 2 weeks. I really want to go back to the gym but I have no energy and still feel crappy :(

MeaninglessPhoto 03-03-2008 12:33 PM

sup Kelsey?

I got dropped from one of my classes because of missed assignments. Even though the first one wasnt my fault cause I wasnt enrolled in the damn school yet. Ugh Ugh ugh.

_Wrathchild_ 03-03-2008 12:37 PM

Hey Gordie.

I want to drop my english class because its so much effing work, but my parents will never let me. I was hoping that I could slack off this semester and focus more on music, but its actually been really hard and requires lots of time and effort :(

A question for other highschool students/people who recently graduated:
In grade 12, do you have the option of doing a second english course in your second semester? I was trying to explain that I was doing an "extra" english course to one of my friends who lives in another province and he was like wtf that doesn't exist.

Sunshine 03-03-2008 12:40 PM

I've never been to a high school that offered English courses other than the standard 4 [9-12th level English], but that doesn't mean its impossible for a high school to offer extra courses.
My 12th grade year I didn't even take English 12, we had a community college right next to our school and a dual credit program so I took English 101/102 instead.

But to answer your question -- yes, its possible, if your high school offers other classes, which..is..possible?

_Wrathchild_ 03-03-2008 12:43 PM

I always thought that it was a stardard thing that all schools offered, but maybe schools don't offer it outside of Manitoba.
But yeah, its way too much work for someone who despises school as much as me.

Drum Phil 03-03-2008 12:44 PM

Eh?
