SonorKen 08-22-2005 12:59 PM

Sure, I don't mind. Make sure its something that will attract attention.

Stoic 08-22-2005 01:05 PM
Edited the rules, let me know if everything looks good.
That was quick, thanks a lot! Everything looks good :)

I think it's a good idea to tell Riva to mention the renovated Rules&Links thread to his next Monday Night series so that more people are aware that series threads are being gathered.
I guess we could let each community come up with one and if we (the mod staff) didnt think it would work then go to thier next pick.
My thought exactly. A name change would be as long as the thread's theme is recognizable (although I personally didnt recognize the Tool thread at first)

 at Ken stickying that thread. :p

So yeah, if we're renaming threads and all, I reckon Pink Floyd > Tool is the new name of the PF thread. *smiles sententiously*
I think it's a good idea to tell Riva to mention the renovated Rules&Links thread to his next Monday Night series so that more people are aware that series threads are being gathered.
yoo Riva, now that you're on (i tried to contact you but hot sex tonight isnt working :p), will you do it?

Riva 08-22-2005 03:45 PM

No problem. :)

So, I'm thinking people can put taglines in their threads? So Bethelem Abortion Clinic.... has (Tool) behind it.

So, the new name for the PF thread is The Great Thread In The Sky (Pink Floyd)

Needless trolling in the Beatles thread...99% of his posts come from two threads (two Final Fantasy threads in Video Games and Movies) and is rarely ever in R+M, and came into the Beatles thread just to say that. It would be appreciated if a mod (but not SonorKen, because he's gay and no one likes him :p just kidding) would put him in his place.

Riva 08-23-2005 04:32 AM

Can we ban people for being attention trolls?

clown_phobia 08-23-2005 04:49 AM

Why did all the official threads get renamed 'the rock and metal thread'?

dUSK 08-23-2005 04:56 AM

Quick question. With all the Official tags being removed, is it still against the rules to have two threads on one band? or to have a thread asking for recommendations? Just wondering if we should still report things the same way as when all the Official stuff was still around.

It's always been illegal to make a thread when a larger one was still around. So just keep linking them to the bigger one, etc.
Why did all the official threads get renamed 'the rock and metal thread'?
The mods decided for a less flashy title for the threads, to reduce people wanting this or that thread to be official.

the2stranger 08-23-2005 12:31 PM

I really don't see the problem in the flashy ***Official*** threads.
I think almost every thread that should ever be made official was official.
and it's not like the forum is overfloated with people asking for threads to become official.

but I don't think we're getting the old titles back I suggest:

bold titles

CAPITAZLIZED titles

all official threads stickied ( but this would mean a complete make over of the layout of the site, by creating more threads on one mainpage)

a subforum as politics and sports and videogames at the top of the R&M section.
-------
anyways, the threads most be easily recongnizable(sp?)
cause badly recognizable '' official'' threads will not be seen by a lot of (newer) posters, and thus resulting in loads of: I didn't see a thread on " ...... " , so I've decided to make one

The mods just didn't like the look of the ***OFFICIAL*** and it spurred alot of new users to create their own official threads.

Formatting, such as bold and italics, doesn't work in thread titles.

We'll never ever have enough space to get all of the official threads stickied.

No subforums should be added to R&M, it doesn't need to be segregated anymore.

Shazzam 08-23-2005 12:44 PM

I think there should be a 'Classic Rock' and 'Metal' Subforums, but that's just me.

And can you please change the name of the Pink Floyd thread, because everyones posting millions of suggestions in the thread about what they want to change it too.

But a majority of us have agreed on this one:

The Great Thread in the Sky (Pink Floyd)

No, dividng the R&M up is just silly.
