Wanker 04-09-2005 08:09 AM

Blah, it's 10 in the morning on this crappy Saturday. Anyone else want to join me in the bitter-sweetness?

JonM 04-09-2005 08:35 AM

Last night I had a dream about making varsity baseball against my will, and I hate baseball. I wanted to dream up some awesome melody, because I watched Amadeus last night, so I wanted to wake up this morning with a melody in my head, fire up Reason, and compose something cool and electronic and epic. Instead I got fucking baseball.

I think if you opened up a bunch of Linkin Park songs in Cool Edit Pro, their waveforms would be identical. Same dynamics, etc.

Oh my word. Thats scary

br3ad_man 04-09-2005 06:10 PM

 nice

The basic structure of every Linkin Park song, ever:

Intro - either some wierd keyboard sound or light clean guitar riff
Intro part 2 - crashes in with heavy dropped D guitar riff
Intro part one again for a few bars
Verse 1 - usually the rapper dude, but sometimes ( ) the guy sings. This part usually has a section where the singer and rapper switch off of eacher other
Chorus - singer yells angst lyrics with more dropped d riffs. dude raps a bit too
Verse again
Chorus again
Bridge thing - cuts back a bit and the singer usually does this part
Dropped D riff crashes in again
Chorus
Repeats chorus and fades out

leiferikson 04-09-2005 06:16 PM

That sounds about right. Also, in their videos each time the dropped D riff crashes in one of the guitarists will leap, in slow motion, off a piece of scenery

Iai 04-09-2005 08:03 PM

Indeed they are.

Well_Respected_Man 04-09-2005 08:56 PM

So I have this messed up tighting of my throat that I've gotten before and I know it only gets worse if I panic, so what are good ways to forgot about it becuase it goes away in a couple of hours?

biografiend 04-09-2005 08:58 PM

biografiend 04-09-2005 09:00 PM

P.S. TODAY I WENT TO THE ZOO AND IT WAS AWESOME AND I LOVE THE ZOO.

Bartender 04-09-2005 09:03 PM

Anything by James Joyce should keep you suitably distracted.

I am downloading it right this minute. I'll let you know how I feel about it.

pixiesfanyo 04-10-2005 07:32 AM

It's in m4a..

Lame.

JonM 04-10-2005 08:01 AM

NOT LAME, BECAUSE I AM ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is really, really good. If you like Cat Stevens, you're really going to like it. A lot of this feels like the '60s in a good way. It's a real singer/songwriter album, only it's more interesting than that.

vallely2004 04-10-2005 08:04 AM

Sup everyone? Hows the weekend been? Anything happen on here?
My weekend: Got addicted to the N64 a my mates house and played a gig last night which wasn't too great due to poor turnout and meh!

Right on. I know people will love it if they just listen to it.

Zappa 04-10-2005 09:45 AM

Yesterday I took the ACT, then slept for a few hours, then went to Red Lobster with my parents.

Today I will do not very much.

leiferikson 04-10-2005 12:15 PM

My weekend has been fairly great. Saw Interpol and M83 last night, despite Brixton's typically muddy sound it was still a special show. M83 are just sooo good live, it was a nice feeling seeing people who hadnt heard them before gradually get into it more and more. Even if the sound wasnt great for Interpol they have enough amazing songs to ensure you have a good time :)

And today spurs thrashed newcastle 1-0! w00t

i saw the Album Leaf last night.

it was great.

Iai 04-10-2005 02:20 PM

You cunts. I was trying to avoid that scoreline before MOTD came on!!!

KappaKid17 04-10-2005 02:42 PM

I found out that Poles aren't too fond of Germans last night at a bar.

Iai 04-10-2005 02:44 PM

I think you found that out about 70 years later than everyone else.

What happened?
