I'm not a huge effects nut, I'd say I use them on less than 1% of songs that I've ever played on, but I don't have anything against them. I have a fair few pedals and I'll buy more when money is less of a struggle, but I don't think anyone should feel forced to use or not use them. It's all cool as long as you sound good in the end and most importantly as long as I don't have to debate anything at length.
