Ugh decisions decisions. For the college students in here.

I live about 45 minutes away from my college of choice. Do you think it would be wise for me to live at home and commute to and from to school every day(1 hour and a half) for the first year(since my parents will be moving next year)? Or do you think I should try to get a dorm at the college?

Ugh I dunno, it doesnt help that my dad is leaving this week to go to the middle east for 5 months. :(

Personally I can't wait to get out of my house for college, but you're under different circumstances than I am. I'd go with living at the dorm because I think college + all the driving would probably be too much everyday.

I don't really have a say in this seeing how I'm not in college, but I think you should move out. You'll just get too stressed out and frustrated driving to and from, but if you limit your money carefully, you'll be able to get by in the dorm.

With gas going up and all that gas you'll be wasting commuting, it's going to wind up being more expensive for you to commute than it will to go into the dorms. You could go home every weekend, if you wanted, since you're so close. But commuting everyday? Nah, way too expensive.

At least, with the dorms, you're away from home for a bit, but home is just 45 minutes away if you want to go back.

Commuting 45 minutes each way takes time out of studying and enjoying the college experience.

If you live close to the school, and you are paying for school on your own I would stay at home, but If your parent are paying for it, or you have a full ride, I would definetly stay in the dorms. Ill being staying dorms when I transfer to southern Miss.

Not to mention, it will be harder to get laid. I doubt a girl would want to commute 45 when she can get some right on campus.

I'd say if you can afford it, stay in the dorms. It will be a hell of a lot easier on your schedule.
