Or you could make permanent soles by sticking a lot of little sharp metal rods sticking straight out of the bottom of the soles, giving the best grip ever at the expensive of smooth hardwood floors

nicely done.
My bro J-Menthe randomly gave me a brand new pair of chucks, I was all like "Oh cool now I have shoes without egg-sized holes in the sole"

The original is this:

When I'm happy with this, I'll cut it out life-size and do it banksy style somewhere.

a.) He looks like a black man in the stencil instead of a Middle Eastern man.

b.) I doubt you'll be able to pull that stencil off.

coheneran 11-29-2006 06:26 PM

Yeah, there's not much I can do about it if it's monochrome, but I reckon I can pull it off, if I can find some lino or something big, strong and thin to cut it into.

Jon 11-29-2006 06:49 PM

eran you srsly need graphic design lessons

edit: i forgot i bumped into you today. neat. did you find that shop?
I hate to say it, but well...

i know, i didnt like it much myself but i did it in like 10 min.

coheneran 11-29-2006 06:56 PM

If you're talking about how pixellated it is, I ignore that when I'm cutting. But yeah, it's not done using the full potential of Photoshop. Basicaly just a lot of pasting into new layers and fiddling with the contrast/brightness, then filling in whatever's left, making bridges etc.

If you think you can make it better, please go ahead, I'd like to put it up on a wall I've been keeping my eye on.

Flagjacket 11-29-2006 09:12 PM

Ethan part of that stencil looks like the guy has half a sandwich for his head.

i know :upset:

So I tried doing the x-acto knife to the soles of my boots thing. I guess it kiiind of worked, but not well, and it wasn't easy. My friend suggested I invest in a rubber stamp carver (meaning go down to the art room and borrow one), but I don't know if that'll be any better. Worth a try, though.

I'm also working on a sweet stencil. It's not punk, or even music related, but it has the potential to be awesome, if I can just stop messing it up.

bleep_bloop 11-29-2006 11:33 PM

I made a sick stencil of Sartre, and started working on one of a picture of Muhammed Mosadeh, but i cant seem to get around to finishing it.

Flagjacket 11-29-2006 11:41 PM

Who are those people?

bleep_bloop 11-29-2006 11:43 PM

i am bleep bloop the terrible

asdf 11-29-2006 11:53 PM

He's asking about the people you are stenciling.

It seems like the stencil I am making I have made just a bit too small, so I think I'm going to re-do it bigger. I did a test spray of what I have done and it's okay, but it could be better.

Alright, here's the stencil I've been working on. It's not punk, nor music related. It is, however, Monty Python related.
thats cool. how long did it take to finish?
Not too long. I did it in one day, and while I was making it I was on the computer kind of distracted.

Thanks guys. I'm really happy with it.

If I were a graffiti artist, I'm pretty sure I'd make it life-sized.

coheneran 12-01-2006 01:17 PM

Don't wanna pee on your bonfire, but I've seen that stencil before...
