Hey quick question.

When you guys play your bass do you look at the fretboard in terms of frets or notes.
?Like when you hit the 5th fret of the E string, do you think of it as the 5th fret or as an A?

Frets I suppose. I KNOW the notes...numbers just run through my head though.

For me, suprisingly both will go through my head at the same time. The note I will be thinking of will be in standard tuning (or drop D if i'm in that), but the number and the note name go through my head.

Well then you think of them as frets.

Cuz I do the same thing I know all of the notes but my teacher is crazy................ He'll be reading a jazz chart and like not even look his bass and play all this crazy stuff.

I just brought in my bass for check-up. The action needed to be done and prob some neck adjustment too, since all four strings were starting to buzz. In three days, I'll have a good-as-new bass. :chug:

How much should a small check-up cost me???

I seriously doubt it will be free. In Belgium nothing's for free and any music-related stuff is almost twice as exoensive as anywhere else.
