Never really thought of Pantera as the ultimate in manliness in metal...more like what spawned a lot of the half as[COLOR=Silver]s[/COLOR]ed "thrash" that was common un the 90s.

Whoracle, Clayman and Colony were their best albums i think. All their new stuff is okay but it could be better.

But they're a solid but and i appreciate that. Better than most crap these days. I mean, Killswitch engage, melodic? I was forced to listen to their first album and I'm sure every song was the same thing played in a different place on the fret board.

I liked the song "Becoming"....the 2nd track from Far Beyond Driven. Was quite cool, but they're a band that get old fast.

Yeah, better then Killswitch for sure....hah. The modern "Gothencore" phase just seems to be playing the same scale...for every song, maybe in a different tuning.

Chipple: it's not triggered, just heavily eqed to give it an absurd amount olf attack. Becoming has a cool drum parts, I'll give him that.

Either way, pretty nasty sound. Its more lick a low pitch click than a bass drum sound.

^ Yeah, easy sound to get actually, just get a Danmar Metal Kick pad, or even a quarter, tape it on your kick drum, detune it quite a bit, and you'l get the same sound.
