Love you too, Brian.

Check 'em out.

Mute Print 02-21-2006 11:18 PM

Ampere is awesome. I downloaded an album and a demo of their's a couple weeks ago.

Permanent Solution 02-21-2006 11:18 PM

Jon: Have I ever failed to impress? (Don't answer that)

http://www.purevolume.com/skabonds

Check them out (O noes more Latin bands doing non-Latin music) :p

Mute Print 02-21-2006 11:21 PM

If some of these Latin bands spoke english, I think I would enjoy them. Musically, they sound quite good, but I don't really dig the fact that I can't understand a word they are saying.

However, I have been getting into some foreign screamo bands, because either way I don't know what they're saying, so it doesn't much matter.

My in-real-life friend suggested them. Turns out he likes Envy and Melt Bannana and Refused and general good music. Suprised the hell out of me, he did.

It annoys the hell out of me that their songs are only like 30 seconds each. They're good enough to have at least 3 minute songs.

Amanda Woodward are french, neh?

Wait, you aren't saying Ampere are foreign, are you? They're all boston natives.
http://www.purevolume.com/skabonds
AHH THEY'RE SPEAKING IN TOUNGES!!!

I dig their bassist. He's not particularly good or anything, but I like his style.

To be fair, I wasn't sure whether he was speaking English or Spanish for the first bit with this band because it didn't sound too Latin. But I thought lyrics didn't matter to you, thus the hate of Alk3?

Mute Print 02-21-2006 11:27 PM

Lyrics do matter, but if I don't like the way a band sounds, then I don't really care how good the lyrics are.

Plus, I like Alk3 now. They were at the top of my last.fm charts this week.

I agree, but the fact that they aren't speaking english is a turn off. I'd still listen to them though.

Basically, what I was trying to say is, lyrics only matter when the band sounds good. Bad lyrics can hurt a good band, but good lyrics don't do much for me if I'm not into the band.
Awww, Brian!

Sorry Jon. :(

Don't worry. We still have a lot in common. (ie. THE RISK TAKEN).

We'll see who the emofag is when Gaby breaks up with you. Just because you love the way she makes you feel doesn't mean you love her. And I don't mean that sexualy. /random

Bah, at least I don't listen to music for lyrical quality.

I WILL REMAIN!

http://www.darklyrics.com/lyrics/therisktaken/endcommence.html#2

Cool lyrics, btw.

Remembering Never has really cool lyrics too.

And I don't necessarily mean deep, I mean "If you scream this, it sounds really cool and meaningful"

I just saw this now...

Anyway, I wasn't saying Ampere was foreign, I was saying I've started listening to some foreign screamo, such as Amanda Woodward, and La Quiete.

Edit - RAINING DOWN!

I see. I guess that makes sense, but I'd say that lyrics can get me into the band as art if not as music.
We'll see who the emofag is when Gaby breaks up with you. You're more pessimistic than I am :)

Eh, that's your opinion and you're entitled to it, but this is different. I like her because she is an amazing person. Not just to me. I think she's a generally great person and admirable regardless of how she makes me feel...which is beyond fantastic :)

indeed...

I'm seeing Remembering Never in a few weeks with Madball, Zao, Scarlet, and The Banner. It's going to rule.

Check these guys out. I just saw them with Himsa, and they were awesome.

I still would listen to these bands, but the language barrier takes away from the experience a bit.

MX is being gay.

I listened to Villainy And Virtue a long time ago. Old news, mate.

They're good at what they do. I don't know if I'd like them now though, since I've looked into the genre a lot more than when I first heard them.

Remembering Never's new stuff isn't great. They lost quality, somehow. A sharpness and treble-ness that they had on Women And Children Die First.

It's not bad, but now they're just like every other ten-breakdowns-per-song band. Their screamer toned it down, too. That screaming-so-hard-his-voice-was-cracking quality is gone.

Just saw the video for 1985 by Bowling For Soup.

Haven't laughed that much at a video in a while ^_^

Why don't bands like that seem to surface anymore? :(

ColdFire 02-22-2006 10:17 AM

Nothing good to quote. Goodbye, I got to go back to class.

PDWAB 02-22-2006 11:20 AM

So yesterday I snorted Vicodin, but I didn't feel anything. Kind of disappointing.

Yeah, it was lame. I felt like I should have either felt great, or felt terrible, but nothing happened at all.

Haha Joel. Don't snort pills, just swallow them. Take four vicodin and call me when you're trippin'.

Oh man, i nearly set the house on fire, and it was soooooo much fun

Pazz 02-22-2006 04:06 PM

I made a fire on the stove once. We have a glass top stove, and some water boiled over, so I stupidly put paper towel on it and the paper towel caught fire.
