You guys both seem to be in a fairly sucky situation. For me, I have no chance of being in a band for a couple reasons.

1. I've only been playing for 8 or so months, so I doubt any established musicians would want to creep at my pace. :p
2. The area I live in is 3/4 hispanic. Mexicans don't like rock. I like rap
3. Right now I am engulfed in school, and when summer hits, I'll be working full time.

However, I've been trying to convince one of my friends to pick up drums again. He did percussion for our school's band for 3 years, then gave it up when he hit high school. I'm not sure how adept he is with a full kit, but it would be worth a shot. That would be a fun project. :p

When I go to Italy this summer for 2 weeks, my friend said I'll be aloud to listen to one Tool album, as a kinda intermission. I look forward to that trip now because of that.

What album are you going to listen to?

Either Lateralus or Ænema, but probably Lateralus.

On the Tool-fasting bit, I'm considering doing the same leading up to the concert, so I don't become borderline (here it is) bored with them.

Thats one of the reasons I'm doing it, as I was over playing them to much...

i used to be in a cover band of tool so even when i didn't feel like listening to them i had to.

I'm not going to completely stop listening to Tool, but I'm going to ease up on it. I haven't been listening much lately. Maybe a song a day/every other day

I have a fullt time job for the summer to pay for my new equipment for guitar :cool:

and get him to do it if he has had some experience with drums because you will get along a lot better than getting someone who has never played drums to pick them up.

I have a good MIDI of Aenema, and alot of Tool songs, actually. :cool:

It's what I use to learn the songs.

Now THAT bit does suck. Its so hard to pick out the guitar part over MJK vocals and the other rythym playing

its the dam mute in between the bar chords (power really). All the tab shows him playing mute 2 times, but i hear the recording and think its fukked up
