Yeah. What did you do in London?
Yeah. What did you do in London?
Everything. Saw all the touristy stuff (palace, Big Ben, all that junk), rode the London Eye, went to Covent Garden a couple times, which was pretty interesting. It would be way cooler if it wasn't cold when we were there. I also went to Windsor Castle one day. That was my favorite part. I really wanted to see the country, and not just London. The city itself lost some appeal after a couple days, just because it was a school trip and I couldn't really explore and see everything I might've liked to. The day that I went to Windsor with my mom and a few other kids, the rest of the group went to Camden, which I wish I had gotten to see. We took the tube everywhere. We stayed in Earl's Court. I really enjoyed it, and would definitely go back, but would probably prefer to be over 18. P.S. - Are 'shrooms legal there? Because I saw a picutre of a sign outside a London shop advertising "magic mushrooms" on erowid.org. I also enjoyed the head shops, and would have brought home some nice, cheap paraphanelia if only I could have found some alone time on the trip. |
Hey guys I'm kind of new to Punk. I really love the genre. Its the only genre that talks about politics and destroying society with the energy to back it up. Its destruction, its anarchic, its a public service message with guitars.
Anyway one of the bands that I love is the Clash. I own their self titled, Give em Enough Rope, London Calling, and Live: From Here To Eternity (amazing album). What are some other good Clash albums I should own and are there any live albums by them as impressive as From Here To Eternity? |

Most other shrooms are illegal now because they contain psilocybin. I'd like to see what happens next September when they start growing everywhere that's damp. It'll be hilarious. I think the law says that you are not allowed to be in possession of psilocybin, so techincally if you go down on all fours and eat them right off the ground you're safe. :p |
Guys, what's that instruement that the guy in Johnny Hobo uses as a bass? I know Hillbillys are stereotyped to play that but I don't know what it's called...I want to build one!

"They said that we were trash/Well the name's Crass not Clash/They can stuff their punk credentials/They're just in it for the cash!" Or something like that. Listen to... CRASS if you're into the politics of it all, like me. |

I've never seen them play it, but I assume you're talking about a bucket bass? It needs a bucket, a piece of rope and a strong, slightly bendy two-by-four. Good night dudes. |

I mean I like the Clash so much right now I could care less if they are hypocrites or wrote "Rock the Casba" But I will look into Crass. |

They've pics of it on their myspace. could be just a joke becuase I can't really hear a bass in their music. Yeah I'd like to fool around with some things to try and make something similar. |
Has anyone in here seen the documentry Punk Attitude? A couple of my friends showed it to me the other day and I thought it was pretty good at covering the older Punk. I wish they went into more detail about today's underground scene but it was nice to see some live footage of the MC5. I didn't even know that even existed. It was also very cool seeing the footage of the Sex Pistols playing at that show in Texas where Sid gets hit in the face with a glass bottle and keeps playing all bloody.

Crass may be political as all get out. But they didn't make music, they made noise and they pretty much read politics over them in a very hard to understand way. ****ing horrible excuse for a band. |
I've heard a few of their songs on myspace and it was very... shitty.
So, Eran, I liked my stay in England. Pictures and whatnot on my myspace thing.
http://www.myspace.com/liebensaft. Look at the blog section. There's a lot of pictures - just warning you.
Very cool. I went to the UK two years ago and I am going back this June. For all of you in the UK, if I made a thread about shows/musical festivals/record shops/good places to drink/cool places in general would you post?? |
I agree with everyone who says crass sucks.
|
Crass sucks balls.
|
Crass isn't about the music. You don't listen to Merzbow to have your ears massaged and you don't listen to Crass for melody.

I find some of crass' songs rather catchy. There's almost indefinite room for improvement, but catchy still. |
Is anyone having problems loading QC?

Have you heard the disc "Do they want new wave or do they want the soft pink truth" record by Soft Pink Truth? The dj covers punk classics and he covers Do They Owe Us a Living and it's catchy. |
