RE: lucid dreaming, it isnt very safe unless you prepare yourself for days, possibly even weeks, if you become skeptical in your subconcious mind and fall, your mind will actually fall and you could have a siezure or a heart attack as your falling in your dream, and actually die in real life. one of my older friends ive known for a few years was excellent at it, then he went to bed on shrooms and had a lucid dream and actually hallucinated/dreampt that he was being raped or something, then had a heart attack in real life and died for like 30 seconds. before paramedics revived him i mean

Brokensticks 10-13-2005 12:03 AM

Wow! that is weird..... That is extremely scary!!

Aaron 10-13-2005 12:14 AM

no sir havnt tried any of the AAX rides. ive heard good things about the stage ride though. ive tried all the AA rides except the Raw.

Brokensticks 10-13-2005 12:37 AM

Awesome thanks anyways man. Great to hear you like my choice in future cymbals. I like getting to know nice people on these forums where you from age?? And do you like the 10" AA splash??

rockindrummer 10-13-2005 12:38 AM

I've played the stage ride it is quite nice. If I remember right it didn't have the biggest bell though. I would get that pack all the cymbals are awsome, except maybe the hats I havn't played them. The AA splash is nice but it just wasn't my type of splash I went with the K over it.

Brokensticks 10-13-2005 12:40 AM

Awesome. I'm not a big fan of playing on the bell so that doesn't matter too much. My parents bought me the splash for x mas and i was just wondering if anyone else likes it. I have trouble fitting splashes into music I play also where is it best put?

Seafroggys 10-13-2005 12:43 AM

Its a weird habit of mine, but whenever I play on the bell, I always use the side of the stick, instead of the tip.

Aaron 10-13-2005 12:44 AM

i own a AA 10" splash and to be honest i hate it. so much i've taken it out of my setup and it lives in a snare case in my room with my spare snare batters

Brokensticks 10-13-2005 12:45 AM

Thats what you are supposed to do i believe.

Brokensticks 10-13-2005 12:46 AM

O thats bad news to hear about my splash :p

rockindrummer 10-13-2005 12:49 AM
Its a weird habit of mine, but whenever I play on the bell, I always use the side of the stick, instead of the tip.
That's what I do too, It sounds fuller than with the tip of the stick.

Drummer54 put it just to the right of your hats beside your high tom and pretty much underneath the crash on your left side. There are many other places to put it but I like it there.

Aaron 10-13-2005 12:51 AM

^its more personal preference. im a wuhan/old K tone guy so it doesnt suit me..

Brokensticks 10-13-2005 12:52 AM

Wow, that is exactly where i have it under my left crash but a bit above my tom.

Brokensticks 10-13-2005 01:01 AM

The bell is meant to be played with the side of your stick. That is how my drum instructor taught me anyways. It gives a fuller sound and feels good to play. I like the feel or it anyways its something different.

Double Bass Jim 10-13-2005 01:09 AM

Depends, you get 2 different sounds with the tip and shoulder.

Tim 10-13-2005 01:37 AM

im from a crapass city called bakersfield in california. and no i dont liek the 10 inch AA splash but i do like the 6 and 8 inch ones. i love those ones. 10 inch is too big for a splash imo.

Brokensticks 10-13-2005 01:53 AM

O I see I am in BC Canada
i've started to write my dreams down in a notebook, i wanna keep track of some of the weird ones. and since i start to forget small details as the day goes on, i keep it right by my bed and write it down usually once i wake up. should be quite interesting a few years down the road.

i forgot to bring my english binder home, i was going to type out another rant i did. my teacher's starting to get frustrated with me, telling me that i could easily be getting 10/10's, but i "add profanities" and she's trying to get me to stop by taking marks off.

edit - post 10101 !!! whoo hoo!!!
I had a lucid dream last night and the night before. I was telling puppet master about it. The first one is too long to explain, and it was absolutely terrifying. Last night's one, I was being robbed by townies. They were stealing my kit in the middle of the night, and I caught them and tried to fight them. I managed to tackle one, and got on top of him and I kept punching him repeatedly in the face, except, he felt nothing. My attacks were harmless. I was vulnerable and could not stop them taking my drums away.

I guess you could say I am having lucid nightmares. I hope I don't have one tonight, as they are really really scary.

Double Bass Jim 10-13-2005 04:39 AM

I don't dream much to be honest, sounds pretty bad too BB ^ dang!

Drum Phil 10-13-2005 04:47 AM

Yeah i never seem to dream anymore. Except the other night when i had a dream about throwing a 300lb lead weight into someone i hates face :) That was satisfying to say the least

Double Bass Jim 10-13-2005 05:04 AM

Haha thats the kinda dream ya wake up and crack up at, good times.

Drum Phil 10-13-2005 05:05 AM

Hell yeah. I rarely dream but that kinda dream i can enjoy.

Balls ive got a funeral tomorrow :( Not lookin forward to it. And i think ive damaged the joint in my left index finger

Pauly 10-13-2005 05:14 AM
I kept punching him repeatedly in the face, except, he felt nothing. My attacks were harmless.
I can kinda relate to that. I always have dreams where I'm jumping on a trampoline, but no matter how hard I try, I just can't bounce. I get really tired, really frustrated, but I just keep trying.
Kinda the same concept- last night I was playing basketball in my dream, but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get the ball to the ring.

Futuro 10-13-2005 07:07 AM

The only dreams you remember are the ones you awake during...

DruMMeR_BoY14 10-13-2005 07:08 AM

Ergh band practice has again been left up to me to organise, terrific. Its the night beforehand and now I find out our bassist hasn't one of our guitarists or signer about it, so guitarist is gonna have heaps of trouble making it and will probbaly have to hitch a ride with someone. plus we have a gig in 2 weeks so this practice is totally vital.

I hate this crap, when I joined up I had no intention of organising this ****. Owell, I pray to god that it all turns out ok, and if not I think I'll be pulling my hair out and having serious thoughts about quiting. Not the first time this has happened.
