people should have to take some kinda test before being let on on the net by themselves, if they don't pass then they need to have some guy there to put them right
I have about 1300 posts in the classic rock thread. And then afew in other music and a few in C.D. reveiws and in Zeppelin, Floyd and Beatles official threads.
They also have a crazy language, and I mean crazy! I think they also have the longest named place in the world. I think it's a trainstation and I also think that I met a Welsh girl in Leeds who could say it, but my memory is a bit hazy from around then
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwyll-llantysiliogogogoch

It's the name of a small town in Wales, but it's famous for not fitting on the sign of the town's train stations. Pronunciation is horrendous; "ll" is pronounced something like "gch" (a hard g sound, then a hard ch). It means, roughly, "The church of St. Mary in the hollow of white hazel trees near the rapid whirlpool by St. Tysilio's of the red cave".

Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakitanatahu

is the name of a hill in New Zealand (it's funny how much Wales and New Zealand have in common). I read somewhere that this one is longer, but I don't think it is.

munky_magik 12-22-2004 04:01 PM

Hmmm...I'm sensing an opening for a Wales-New Zealand conspiracy. Any takers?

My friends mom was born and raised in Wales. She can speak that way.
Anybody know how to put words/names into alphabetical order on a text document?
I've had to do a lot of stuff like that, and the only thing I've found to help so far is patience :( Sorry.

I'm positive I met a chick that could say that.
I know for a fact that I did meet someone from knaresborough, and that I can remember the rhmye thing for how to spell it

my guess is it's something to do with smuggling sheep to special long named places for a secret cult of somekind

Riva 12-22-2004 05:03 PM

I've been to the long name New Zealand town. Good times.

xizoesira 12-22-2004 05:03 PM

Interesting place?

Put them into Excel, and alphabetise.

Full of sheep and strange accents. Ice-cream is good though.

Bartender 12-22-2004 05:08 PM

After watching that film, I gave in to temptation, by the way, and rented Spiderman 2 for the PS2 again. This means;

1. I'll probably be spending slightly less time on MX.
2. I really am weak.
3. I'll soon get back on to the Mary Jane/Black Cat thing.

Arucard 12-22-2004 05:32 PM

Oh come on bartender, that game is whack. Get half-life 2 for PC instead.

munky_magik 12-22-2004 05:34 PM

Arucard 12-22-2004 05:36 PM

Arucard 12-22-2004 05:40 PM

Ok. Guitarist question. Which song taught you how to hammer on?

ME = Tool : Schism

Half Life did nothing for me, so I see no reason to buy Half Life 2. The next PC game I plan on buying is Fallout 3, if it ever sees the light of day. Unless I cave and buy an MMORPG in the meantime.

munky_magik 12-22-2004 05:42 PM

hammers? uhh...I have no idea. I'm trying to remember all the songs that I learnt when I started out

Yeah, I had to turn on the subtitles for San Andreas pretty quickly.

I desperately crave Rome: Total War, and World Of Warcraft. I also wish I had more money.

Oh, and I think Ethan's crusade made Fallout 3 less likely to be released than ever.

Bartender 12-22-2004 05:50 PM

Never! Ethan's valiant efforts can only have speeded justice.

If not, he can go and beat up the Interplay guy again, until it finally is made.

Arucard 12-22-2004 05:52 PM

Im getting Half-Life 2 for christmas. Ahh, finally a game that will take away my multi-playing life nearly as much as The Sum Of All Fears.

That definition of Robert Plant reminded me of this. Adam posted his own definition of this, and some Pit wise-arse, (I suspect Trav) went and made a second definition.

No, I haven't. I'm not saying it won't be good, but I was saying there's little enough appeal in FPS games to me anyway. I prefer RPGs, most of the time (hence, Fallout).

Arucard 12-22-2004 06:07 PM

Me too RPG's > All.
Apart from SOAF online on the PC.

Half Life didn't do much for me either, but I thought Half Life 2 was absolutely amazing.

I have to admit I could never get into Fallout 2.

But enough about single players - go buy World of Warcraft and join me on Tichondrius!
