Ryan: As if pass up an opportunity to see Megadeth :p I loved them when I saw them back in May. Sucks about The Conjuring and Good Mourning/Black Friday though

It sucks HORRIBLY.

Meh, I might try to see them...

Apocalyptic Raids 07-17-2005 10:11 AM

Usually the setlists are pretty good, as long as you can put up with 4 or so songs from the new album.
Usually the setlists are pretty good, as long as you can put up with 4 or so songs from the new album.
As long as those songs include Kick The Chair, that's probably the only song on the new album I can tolerate.

I'm gonna play some Chrono Trigger. liek l8rz!!110ne

Yeah they played that one when I saw them. They played Back In The Day too, the second half of that song owns live.

If that's the date, go. Its one of the Anthrax dates I'm pretty sure.
As long as those songs include Kick The Chair, that's probably the only song on the new album I can tolerate.
What about Blackmail the Universe?

Anyway, I have a feeling that since they just released that greatest hits, they won't play as much from the new album. In fact, they might even bust out some Take No Prisoners, Rattlehead, and Five Magics, which would just kick ass.

metal-militia 07-17-2005 10:42 AM

The Conjuring is a great song... its a shame Dave took it off the setlist. :upset:

I seen megadeth when diamond head supported them in febuary it was a totally amazing gig everyone has to see megadeth at least once. They played back in the day then the guys from diamond head came one and played it with them also they played peace sells half way then cut into holy wars all the way up to where the punishment is due cuts in then back into the rest of peace sells. Insane

CaptainWaits 07-17-2005 10:59 AM

Yeh. It's an Anthrax date, but there's no Symphony X on that date :upset: .
Ok, yell "LOOKING DOWN THE CROSS!!!" the whole time.
That'll do :)

does anyone here (apart from Disposable Hero) know of Silent Scream? They released one album called From the Darkest Depths of the Imagination. Its pretty good and was produced by Gene Hoglan.

Feel free to upload some tracks for the MX thrash masses if you don't mind.

I've heard two songs, and they were great.

Yeah, upload like two or three songs, pretty please with chocolate sprinkles and cookies and a cherry on top :D

Terrorzone 07-17-2005 07:40 PM

Yeah, that would be cool. Just ordered the Atheist box set. Very awesome.

I've got two original copies, but I'm contemplating buying that box set. Either that or the Sacrifice rereleases when they hit shelves. I need those albums on CD, because my tapes are shot.

MAthiAS 07-17-2005 09:28 PM

Ugh, all these CDs I need to buy... Still have to get the Eternal Nightmare rerelease... and now Sacrifice, plus I'm going to end up buying if I can't download Handle with Care, Illusions/Chemical Exposure, RIP, and The Ultra Violence.

RCA 07-17-2005 09:31 PM

They're all worth buying though, so you won't be disappointed. That Nuclear Assault album has some "WTF?" moments on it though.

Nice, nice.

In a couple weeks or so I'll hit 6,666... the number of the UBER beast!

RCA 07-17-2005 09:41 PM
How so?
It will be thrashing along nicely, and then a riff that doesn't add to the thrashing madness will be played, and totally screw up the vibe of the song. The heavy-as-fuck breakdowns are still to be found, but the quality of the songs isn't quite as good as it was on Game Over or Survive.

Then again, it's not as bad as Out Of Order or Something Wicked.
Nice, nice.

Thee uber beast shall be summoned upon thy Earth in due time. I await this infernally brilliant event.

RavenousMetalist87 07-17-2005 11:38 PM

Ah, my fellow thrashers.

I have given Phoenix Rising by Destroyer 666 a second listen again, and I realized, I was a ****ing idiot to doubt such awesome power. Australian Black Thrash at supreme awesomeness.

I can't turn my speakers too lound cause on one of the songs, it gets really loud out of nowhere and then goes back. I haven't undertstood why.

It's still a really good album. The double bass is good...extremely good. My subw00fer loves it.

FlyingPaul_83 07-18-2005 12:11 AM

Alright, I'm bored with my music right now, I need an incredible thrash album that will not dissapoint. I'm going to the store tomorrow(or today?) and I want to buy a good thrash album. I'm open for suggestions, just tell me if they have harsh vocals or thrash vocals though because I'm kinda spent on all the harsh vocals.

Is Kreator-Enemy of god Good?

It's not that incredible thrash album you're waiting for. It's OK, but won't inspire you, unless you're a huge fan of older Kreator, which iof you havenm't heard hte album by now I'm guessing you're not.

What're you looking for? Must it be thrash?

If you are going to get some Kreator. Get Coma Of Souls. Also try Bonded by Blood by Exodus.

It would help if you told us what you have already.

Ravenous: Destroyer 666 = ownage. Black City - Black Fire rules, That middle section OWNS. Best.Riff.Ever

Its not genre defining or anything, but I thought it was a good listen... Get Pleasure to Kill if you don't have it yet.

Or Darkness Descends if you don't have that. I gave that album a listen for the first time in a while yesterday... it absolutely slays... its a must listen for anyone I'd say.

goonboy175 07-18-2005 11:20 AM

Hey all, a friend of mine gave me this CD he made up of a lot of thrash stuff, meant to be an "ultimate thrash compilation" or something, just wondering what you guys make of the track listing?

Alison Hell - Annihilator
Darkness Descends - Dark Angel
Master Of Puppets - Metallica
The Organization - Death Angel
Bonded by blood - Exodus
N.E. Terror - Flotsam & Jetsam
Blitzkrieg Air Attack - Hirax
Angel Of Death - Slayer
Brain Death - Nuclear Assault
Thrown To The Wolves - Death Angel
Pleasure to Kill - Kreator
Beneath The Remains - Sepultura
Agent Orange - Sodom
Burnt Offerings - Testament
Holy Wars...The Punishment Due - Megadeth
Madhouse - Anthrax
Hangar 18 - Megadeth
Alone in the Dark - Testament
Metal Church - Metal Church
Hit The Lights - Metallica
Among The Living - Anthrax
Battery - Metallica
Surgery - Nuclear Assault
Feel the Fire - Overkill
Watch The Children Pray - Metal Church
Blacklist - Exodus
Extreme Aggressions - Kreator
Horrorscope - Overkill
Inner Self - Sepultura
Merciless Death - Dark Angel
Electrocuction - Sodom
True Believer - Testament
Raining Blood - Slayer

RCA 07-18-2005 11:25 AM

It's a great tracklisting, but it lacks thrashier Metal Church. I would've put Merciless Onslaught or Western Alliance instead of the self-titled song.

MAthiAS 07-18-2005 11:31 AM

I would've changed a few songs... throw on some Ripping Corpse and Nuclear Winter, something like that... But looks good.

RCA 07-18-2005 12:04 PM

Ripping Corpse = my favorite Kreator song. Then again, most of you could've added two and two, looked at my old username, and found that out. :D

MAthiAS 07-18-2005 12:08 PM

Pretty much every song on Pleasure to Kill could be my favorite Kreator song :D

goonboy175 07-18-2005 12:10 PM

Hirax are awesome. The New Age of Terror and Raging Violence are the albums I recommend.

One of the guitarists on Metal Church filled in for Kirk Hammet when he broke his arm or something, right?
