I got a Tele. Custom shop. It's gangster.

funkyhoney 10-03-2009 12:34 AM

Just like all the sheeple in the world, eh?

funkyhoney 10-03-2009 12:35 AM

Also, pics of GTFO.

Spaceman Spiff 10-03-2009 12:39 AM

I guess I'll take some sometime.

funkyhoney 10-03-2009 12:48 AM

Picsorlies!

Spaceman Spiff 10-03-2009 12:58 AM

I'll get some pictures of my awesome guitars soon.

Fender '52 Telecaster Custom Shop
Epiphone Les Paul
Ibanez ORM
Ibanez SR-506

It's a great collection.

My big problem with American Standard Teles is the thick neck. I picked up this one today and the thin neck pretty much sold me on it. I loved it as soon as I started playing. And it's the color I wanted. The only thing I didn't get was a maple fretboard, but I'll live.

Epidemechanical 10-03-2009 01:20 AM

funkyhoney 10-03-2009 01:35 AM

Epidemechanical 10-03-2009 01:38 AM

Epidemechanical 10-03-2009 01:39 AM

Pluperfect_Arson 10-03-2009 03:12 AM

Dude, have you seen the trailer for Cataclysm, the next WoW expansion?

**** looks so ****ed up, now.

funkyhoney 10-03-2009 03:13 AM

I have seen the trailer for James Cameron's new film Avatar; looks spectacular.

gaslight 10-03-2009 09:43 AM

'Sup gents.

PaulSimonon 10-03-2009 09:57 AM

Good day to you sirs.

What's going on?

gaslight 10-03-2009 10:08 AM

Not much. Pretty wired on lack of sleep. Watching the cricket test NZ v Pakistan, drinking one of the giant V's, doing some work, all kinds of crap.

You?

BenJammin 10-03-2009 10:45 AM

I'm sitting on my butt waiting for band practice.

How is that?

I'm arranging for my splendid thanksgiving feast next weekend. Wanna come?

Cool man. What's the story, what's your line-up, gigs, EP, album?

It's decent. Mostly boring.

I gotta house sit for someone next weekend who is going away for the weekend, so I gotta stick around the city.
Cool man. What's the story, what's your line-up, gigs, EP, album?
Well, we were two guys who've been writing our own songs for a couple of years now, and eventually transitioned from instrumentals to vocals. Wrote 7-8 songs and decided that we were going to put together a band. We're shooting to be a four piece:

Guitar/vocals
Guitar/backing vox
Bass/backing vox
Drums

Gigs are almost a guarantee as soon as we get a drummer. Since Jeremy and I wrote all of the songs, we're already pretty tight musically, and the new guy on guitar (a friend of ours) is a fast learner, so we're hoping to have everything live-ready in a couple of months. Working on a full-length, as well, but it's involving a lot of recording and re-recording. We need to get some real drums in before we can seriously contemplate pressing or or anything.

You've probably seen me whore this out before. Some of the vocals are a bit sketch (mostly on Design / The Shallows), but they've since been recorded, but just not re-upoaded.

This band is probably my best shot at actually pursuing music as more than just a hobby. Not sure I really want to do a life of music, but if I could get out and play and see some stuff for a year or two, that'd be really ideal. I don't give a fuck about making money, as long as I've got enough to give me a place to sleep and food for my stomach.

PaulSimonon 10-03-2009 11:04 AM

I want a band to actually come together. Wouldn't that be nice?

gaslight 10-03-2009 11:07 AM

Oh you're Hearth & Salamander.

Cool man, hope it takes off :).

Can I call you guys Sally & The H? That should be your undercover name plus you could do breakfast and/or drive-time radio.

Spaceman Spiff 10-03-2009 11:14 AM

Yesterday was a ridiculous day.

My friend and I bought a Presonus Firebox so we can record at place.
And I bought a Custom Shop Telecaster. I picked it up at the store and it melted me. The neck is a lot thinner than the American Standard (which was my big problem), it's the Crimson Transparent color that I wanted, and, well, it's so fucking gangster.

$1500 though... :(

BUT, back on the bright side of this, I'll never need another guitar again. I just want to replace the pickup in my Ibanez and I'll be golden.

Be prepared for so much music coming from me (and my friend/bassist for H that I'll be making it with).

gaslight 10-03-2009 11:16 AM

Beaut stuff dude.

I love my bargain of a lifetime PRS but I think I'll get an American Standard Strat or something eventually. I only specifically say that model because my mate has one and I played it one time and I just sounded so much nicer than usual through it, it was beautiful.

Spaceman Spiff 10-03-2009 11:18 AM

It was on sale, too. Normally, it would've been $1600+tax, instead it was $1300+tax, which brought it to just under $1500.

BenJammin 10-03-2009 11:24 AM

Must see. I love Teles and yours sounds like a winner.

I won't let Jeremy record with anything but his Tele.

Spaceman Spiff 10-03-2009 11:35 AM

I'll try and get some family shots of my sexy instruments.

Fender Tele
Ibanez ORM
Ibanez SR-506

Of course I still have my bass!
