Well

I haven't ben in here for a while.

katana_manatee 11-08-2006 09:32 PM

I'd say meet her and just be casual about it.
Meet her while your with a friend.
That sounds like a good idea...

When I said "friend of a friend", the friend of mine that she met me through actually hates her

So that specific route is out.

BenJammin 11-08-2006 09:33 PM
So basically, the short story is, this chick I met on the interweb (she's a friend of a friend) likes me (for some strange reason) and she wants to meet me. She's nice, but she kinda seems like she'd be the weird obsessive type, although it's hard to tell. What do I do??

*gasp of horror*
*intense movie music*
Well, only one way to find out. I don't think there's really any harm in meeting her once, and if you like her, keep talking to her. If you don't, cut off all contact.

This made me laugh a bit for some reason.

Exactly.

If it turns out that you don't like her while you're hanging out, just act really uninterested in her.

trumpeter 11-08-2006 09:35 PM

No one ever noticed me :(

It works quite well.

There was this really annoying, ditzy girl who liked me, and I humoured her at first and then gradually talked to her less and less, and now she's lost interest.

:)

Spaceman Spiff 11-08-2006 09:38 PM

I don't really even notice crickets anymore. I've had them in my house for so long (to feed reptiles) that their chirping is just background noise that I don't pay attention to.

I really am. :D

I've been a fan for a while now, but seeing them live just renewed my love for them. If you ever have the chance to see them, I stress that you do. They really put on an amazing show.

And even just listening to their albums... SO GOOD!

Download that song I just posted and tell it doesn't totally pwn. :p

BenJammin 11-08-2006 09:48 PM

I've got all of their albums. I thoroughly enjoy them.

d-mart 11-08-2006 09:48 PM

I find them insanely boring IMHO.

I think its his vocie, just gets under my skin way too much.

This song isn't on any of their albums.

:D

Seriously, it's a song that didn't make it onto The Crane Wife. It really should have, in my opinion.

It took me a while to get into them when I first started listening, they really had to grow on me. I thought Colin Meloy's voice was weird, kind of funny, kind of annoying after too much, and the music was just really out there.
Honestly, I didn't like them, but there was something that kept me listening. Their sound was just too interesting to ignore, so I kept listening even though I didn't really like it. Then I started to notice things, when I could make more sense of the music, that I really liked, and that's when I fell in love with them.

So I put out my knee again tonight. I think that I should go get it checked out by a different doctor this time.

Knee problems suck. My dad had to get his meniscus removed a couple of years ago, and I'm not sure if my grandfather even has knees anymore.

Spaceman Spiff 11-08-2006 10:20 PM

One time I had a really weird knee injury. My dog had this really big bone that we got her as a toy and she was running around the yard with it really fast and came charging past me and knocked me right in the knee with it.

It totally messed up my knee for a long time, but I never went to a doctor or anything for it. I remember one time in particular where I woke up for school one day, it was the winter, and my injury came back to haunt after not bother me for a while. My knee was incredibly stiff and in a lot of pain, I could barely move it.

It's an injury that hasn't bothered me in 5 years or something, so I assume it's been dealt with. :p

Knee problems run in my family. My grandpa has had reconstructive surgery for a different knee problem, my dad had the same problem as me and had surgery for it. Two of my uncles have bad knees as well. I figure that I'll need some sort of knee surgery in the next four years.

Hmmm I didn't know it could run in the family. I haven't had any problems yet, so I guess I'm fortunate.
